My name is Kaya, and I am a senior at Sunapee High School. I am currently working on my Girl Scout Gold Award, which is the highest award in Girl Scouts, equivalent to the Eagle Scout Award for Boy Scouts.
I have been hiking since before I can remember, and have hiked all of the 48 4,000 footers in New Hampshire, but this water crossing is one of the most dangerous crossings I have come across. Especially in the winter with snow and ice, and when the water is particularly high, there can be serious risks.
For that reason, I am building an aluminum bridge for my Gold Award project, and I need your help! Donations via Venmo or Paypal (located at the bottom of this page) are greatly appreciated, and all of the money raised will go towards the cost of the bridge as well as an interactive trail guide. The bridge and trail guide will be built to last for decades!
The design is for a 36 ft aluminum bridge, costing $14,108.
If you would like to volunteer to help install the bridge in the late summer/early fall of 2024, please email me HERE!
We will need help on Friday, May 16 to haul in materials, and on Saturday, May 17 to build the actual bridge.
MY GOAL: $14,500
FUNDS RAISED: $6,132.51
