Lecturing (with translator) at Drepung Loseling Monastery in Karnataka, India as part of the Emory-Tibet Science Initiative (Summer 2016).
I love teaching philosophy, not only because it is a lot of fun, but also because I believe that philosophy enriches our lives and enables us to deliberate more thoughtfully with others. I'm currently an Assistant Professor at Boston College, where I teach electives (grad. and undergrad.) in philosophy as well as year-long undergraduate courses in BC's Core curriculum, focused on philosophy and theology.
I've taught broadly across areas in philosophy—from early modern philosophy, to ethics, to formal logic—and I have additional pedagogical interests in the history of philosophy from the ancients to the present (including Indian & Tibetan Buddhist philosophy). In the past, I've taught undergraduate philosophy courses at a number of schools, including: Bryn Mawr College, the University of Pennsylvania, Georgia Tech, Emory University, and Agnes Scott College. Before that, I served as a faculty member for the Emory-Tibet Science Initiative (ETSI), where I co-taught intensive summer courses in the philosophy of science to Tibetan Buddhist monks at monasteries in India.
Below you can find a list of previously taught courses. Feel free to email me for my teaching statement.
