Andrea Zevenbergen

Welcome to my webpage! My name is Dr. Andrea Zevenbergen and I am a subject matter expert (SME) and academic copyeditor, having retired from SUNY Fredonia as a SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor in September 2023. My PhD is in Clinical Psychology (SUNY Stony Brook). I taught at Fredonia from 2001-2023 and was an Assistant Professor of Psychology at University of North Dakota from 1996-2001.

I have 27 years of experience editing and proofreading students’ research papers. I supervised dissertations and master’s theses at University of North Dakota, and mentored the research work of dozens of undergraduate students during the time that I was a professor. I served as a Consulting Editor of The Journal of Psychology from 2001-2011 and Psychological Assessment from 2013-2015. My own research work mostly focused on child language acquisition. From 1991-2021, I authored over 25 published scholarly papers and book chapters, also attesting to my experience with academic writing.

In providing feedback to students on their written work, I am dedicated, conscientious, and supportive. My goal is to help students strengthen their writing skills over the course of manuscript preparation. I want students to feel great about their final product!

Whether you are looking for editing feedback as you write each chapter of your dissertation, or you just want comprehensive, accurate proofreading and copyediting of a nearly final version of your dissertation, I can assist you. Please contact me at azevenber@gmail.com if you would like to schedule a virtual consultation about your dissertation proofreading and editing needs. Preliminary questions about the prospective cost or time frame for editing services can also be sent to my email.

Best wishes to you on your work!
