Andrea Jackson is a Toledo based mixed media artist. She has a passion for drawing and is an aspiring muralist. She is currently a student at the University of Toledo majoring in Fine Arts with a concentration in 2D studies (drawing and painting) and a minoring in Art History. Her art strives to explore her religious and cultural identity through iconography, developing her own visual language. She creates pieces inspired by her Black and Mexican heritage and uses traditional symbols in their respective backgrounds to convey her ideas. Through meticulous detail and personal storytelling, she hopes to create art that represents her and conveys a sense of relatability. Her practice is rooted in self-discovery and the ultimate goal of connection.
