Flagship Project: Scenario-Based eLearning, "onCampus"
Purpose: A college admissions team needed additional training on the planning and execution of on campus student visits. The goal was to provide a scenario-based eLearning tool that would guide new admissions counselors through the general process for planning and executing successful visits, resulting in higher enrollment rates.
Design Process: First, the client and I discussed the need for training: student athlete visits were not following a specific process and were resulting in missed meetings and lower enrollment rates. Then, I created an action map based on the goal that was agreed upon with the client. What specific actions did people need to perform to achieve the goal? Next, I wrote the storyboard which included content and programming notes for the experience. Then, visual design mock-ups were created and edited along with the client's approval. I developed a prototype, received feedback from multiple parties, and then developed the final product. An important aspect of design for me is not only to deliver the correct content, but to also include delightful moments throughout the experience that bring joy to the learner.
