Andrea TOTO is assistant professor of economic policy at the IUL University, Florence, Italy and assistant professor of finance at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
He regularly holds several graduate and undergraduate courses in the fields of political economy, economic policy and finance. He has been awarded with an Encomium for Excellence in Teaching and Thesis Supervision by the Budapest University. He has been an assistant professor of economic policy at the University G. d'Annunzio Chieti-Pescara, Department of Management and Business Administration. He worked as a researcher for the Research Cluster in Financial Markets and Regulation at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and for the Department of Management and Business Administration at the University G. d'Annunzio of Pescara. He also held graduate and post-graduate teaching appointments at the University d'Annunzio of Pescara and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.
Andrea TOTO holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and computer science (cum laude) from University G. d'Annunzio of Pescara in Italy, a master's degree (cum laude) in economics and management from University G. d'Annunzio of Pescara in Italy, a master in innovation and knowledge management from University G. d'Annunzio of Pescara in Italy, and a double PhD in MBA and computational economics from a joint program developed by University Jaume I of Castellon de la Plana in Spain and University G. d'Annunzio of Pescara in Italy. He has been a visiting Ph.D. student at Christian Albrechts University of Kiel in Germany and University Jaume I in Spain.
His current research focuses on the relationship between the Rule of law principles and the efficiency and safeness of the economic system, on the effects of judicial impunity on economic growth, on the labor market and the incidence and distribution of environmental crimes.
Before approaching his academic career, He acted as an accountant and as a fiscal and tax consultant to private firms in Italy.
Besides academic life, Andrea’s great achievement has been obtaining the swimming instructor license from FIN (Italian Swimming Federation). He is an expert swimmer, cyclist and fitness athlete.
