Andreas Michael is a Special Scientist at the University of Cyprus, engaged in research on intergroup conflict, transitional justice, and social attitudes in divided societies. He completed his PhD in Psychology at the University of Cyprus, focusing on how people justify political and social systems, perceive justice in post-conflict settings, and approach the Cyprus problem from both communities. His research interests include social and political psychology, particularly intergroup relations, ideological beliefs, and public attitudes toward reconciliation, as well as environmental psychology and collective responses to environmental challenges. He is a research member in several funded projects, including studies on contested property and negotiation outcomes in Cyprus using agent-based modelling, public perceptions of transitional justice, and natural resource co-management in conflict zones. His work applies both qualitative and quantitative methods to understand how communities navigate conflict and transition.Â
