My name is Andrea Hoover!
I am in my final chapter of student teaching through the courses at Grand Canyon University. I am getting my Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education with completion in December 2022.
Throughout my career, I have worked in the special needs classroom as a paraprofessional at an elementary school which has driven me to become a teacher. Upon having three children and two grandchildren later, I began subbing in the classroom when my littlest was in 2nd grade. Now she is in 8th grade and my oldest grandson that is a special needs child is at the school I started at.
Over the last year, I served as a paraprofessional that stepped in to teach the 2nd semester at Liberty Eylau Elementary School for the special needs class that I was in. I was given a wide variety of opportunities to observe, teach both large and small groups of students, and collaborate with students. My entire life, I have pictured myself in the classroom, and now that vision is becoming a reality.
