I am the Director of Online Learning at St Charles Community College and also teach part-time as Professor in Business Technology. I have been at SCC since fall 2006, and I have been teaching since 2002, though teaching is my second career.
I grew up in Leadwood, MO—about an hour and a half south of St Louis, population 1297…yes, that is twelve hundred not thousand. I attended Mineral Area College in Park Hills, MO and then transferred to Belmont University in Nashville, TN to complete my Bachelor of Business Administration degree in music business in 1989. At about 15 I knew I wanted to work in the music business, and I was very lucky to get to do that for many years. I had the privilege to work with some great and talented people, meet some musical heroes, and experience some of the things I had daydreamed about as a teenager. Later, I returned to college and received my Master of Business Education degree at Middle Tennessee State University in 2002 and began teaching while also keeping one foot in the music business.
I was very excited to accept this position at SCC in 2006 and move back to Missouri. My time away from school is spent mostly with family. I’m also a life-long Cards fan and grew to love football while living in the south, watching the Titans and the Vols every weekend. My heart soared for the Music City Miracle and sunk one yard short in the Super Bowl that same year. I’ll also jump into just about any pool during March Madness.
