Philosophy of Biology
Human Evolution
Science & Philosophy of Science Communication
Hi there, fellow hominin!
I am a philosopher of biology with a passion for human evolution. Originally from Italy, I earned my PhD in Biosciences from the University of Padua (curriculum: Evolution, Ecology and Conservation). Currently, I’m a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Logic and Philosophy of Science (CLPS) at KU Leuven’s Institute of Philosophy in Belgium and a member of The Ramsey Philosophy of Biology LAB.
My research focuses on the concepts, inferences, and investigative practices that shape our understanding of human evolutionary history, particularly in the fields of paleoanthropology and archaeology. The Middle and Late Pleistocene are a fascinating head-scratcher to me—especially the origins of Homo sapiens, the lives of Neanderthals, and their comparative biological, behavioral, and cognitive trajectories.
I’m also interested in comparative animal behaviour and the philosophical and evolutionary implications of today’s climate and biodiversity crises. I am actively engaged in science communication too.
I am a highly collaborative researcher with a strong interest in genuine interdisciplinary exchange. I welcome conversations with both philosophers and scientists working in the field, so feel free to reach out if our interests align.
Thanks for stopping by my page!
