REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
Driving Smart - Driving Safe
The first step is to make a copy of and complete the registration forms. Email the completed forms to andersondrivedllc@gmail.com and Venmo your $50 registration fee to @andersondrived. Alternatively, you may print, fill out, and mail the registration forms and the $50 deposit to:
Anderson Driver Education
PO Box 555
Hayden ID, 83835
Next, you and (the student) must purchase a Driver's Permit from the Kootenai County License Department (per Idaho State Law). Let the DMV know you contacted Mr. Anderson and are registered with Anderson Driver Education and they will mail your student’s permit to my PO Box (address above).
Click here to go to the Kootenai County Driver’s License website.
Things you will need to take with you to apply for your permit:
$21.50 (cost of the permit)
Verification of Compliance form from attending school (pick up from school secretary)
Original Birth Certificate
Photo Identification (i.e. activity card, year book picture, passport)
Social Security Number (card not required)
Birth Parent must show photo ID (driver's license). If last name is different than the student, documentation will be needed to explain the difference, i.e. divorce decree, marriage license, adoption papers.
After purchasing your permit, email me at andersondrivedllc@gmail.com your student's full name and permit number. Keep the receipt of your student's permit.
If you have already completed the classroom portion of DE, then let me know that you are ready to schedule your drives. If you have not completed the online classroom portion of DE,...
...you will then choose an online driver education provider. I strongly suggest Mr. Johns with Idaho Online Driver Education (cost his online program is $25 and it will be paid to Anderson Driver Education--he bills me the $25 at a later time). This is a self-paced course and if you spend about 2 hours a night you should be able to complete it within 2 weeks; if you spend about 1 hour a day on this course it should take you about 4 weeks to complete. The student can either finish the online portion first, then drive, or complete their drives while they are taking the course. Let me know which option you prefer.
The other online classroom option is driversed.com (price $99-135). Let me know which online provider you prefer.
The driving portion consists of 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction and 6 hours of observation. The cost for this is $400 (not including the registration fee) and must be paid by the student's last drive. It is preferred that you pay at the student's first drive.
Once completed, the student will then continue practicing with you. We recommend at least 50 hours of practice before they attempt to obtain their driver's licence. Per Idaho law, a student must wait at least six months before they attempt to get their license unless they turn 17 first.
If you would like your student to have additional or private drives only or they are not needing online classes as the student is 17 years old or older and has a Class or SIP permit the cost is $50 per hour.
