I currently have a position as a senior economist at the Macrofinancial Risk Division in the Financial Stability Department at Sveriges Riksbank, Sweden’s central bank. I have previously worked as a researcher at The Research Institute of Industrial Economics (IFN) and also been a civil servant at the Ministry of Finance.
I received my PhD in economics from Jönköping International Business School in 2018 with a thesis on the effects of innovation support and industrial policy. In 2024, I became a docent (associate professor) of economics at Örebro University. I also have a B.A. in philosophy and a lingering interest in Aristotelian virtue ethics.
My research interests are in applied microeconomics with a particular interest in political economy and industrial policy. I have worked on topics such as what drives support for populist parties in Europe and the subsidies to innovative firms. My current work focuses on financial stability risk that are due non-financial firms.
I live in Stockholm with my wife and two sons. I have a fondness for traditional cooking, history and puns.
