Artist Statement

I am a photographer who focuses on capturing nature, urban landscapes, and the subtle traces left behind by people. Architecture is often a central theme in my work, which is characterized by moody, atmospheric images shot on analog black-and-white film. By using film, I achieve a timeless quality in my photographs, creating a strong connection between the present and the past.

My photography explores the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit, showing how nature and the man-made world interact. The images become more than just a record of what is seen—they present aesthetically resilient, thematically interrelated material for memory and projection. While my images are strong in form and visually compelling, they also connect different ideas and themes, inviting viewers to reflect on their own memories and experiences.

My use of analog film adds to this experience by creating a sense of nostalgia—images feel like they come from a different time, yet they remain immediate and present. I capture everyday scenes in a way that reveals their hidden depth, encouraging the viewer to slow down and think about the significance of these seemingly ordinary moments.

Often, my photographs feature quiet, almost haunting scenes, where traces of human presence are felt, but the spaces remain empty. This subtle tension invites viewers to contemplate the passage of time and what it means to be human in spaces that outlast us. My work reminds us of the fleeting nature of life—how people come and go, but the world continues. These themes encourage the viewer to find meaning in the overlooked details of everyday life, showing how beauty and mystery can be found in the simplest of things.

Through my photography, I invite the viewer to project their own thoughts and emotions onto the images. The interplay between what is captured and what is left unsaid allows each person to experience the work in a personal way. I encourage others to look at the world around them with new eyes, discovering poetic meaning in the everyday.
