an Assistant Professor at the British International University (BIU), with academic and professional expertise in civil and environmental engineering. He teaches and mentors students in areas related to water resources, hydrology, and sustainable infrastructure, combining classroom instruction with practical perspectives from real projects. His academic approach focuses on building strong analytical skills and helping students connect engineering knowledge to climate resilience, environmental protection, and community needs.
Position: Consultant Civil Engineer From: 01.10.2025 - Now
Consultant Civil Engineer at AWZAN Co., working on the Erbil Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Project – Phase II. My role supports the delivery of major civil works through technical follow-up, coordination with site teams and stakeholders, and reviewing implementation to ensure alignment with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Position: Civil Engineer (Office of Minister) From: 18.07.2024 - 01.10.2025
Advisor at the Minister’s Office (Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, KRG), supporting evidence-based decision making on climate resilience, integrated water resources management, and flood mitigation strategies for cities and communities.
The Emergency Water Supply Project is a strategic infrastructure initiative designed to strengthen Erbil’s water security by improving the reliability, pressure, and distribution of potable water across the city—especially during peak demand and emergency conditions. The project includes key assets such as transmission lines, storage reservoirs, booster pumping stations, electromechanical systems, and power backup solutions to ensure continuous operation.
A major component of the project is the development of booster stations and related facilities that regulate pressure along the network, protect pipelines from hydraulic shocks, and maintain stable delivery to high-demand and elevated areas. Together, these elements enhance operational resilience, reduce service interruptions, and support a more dependable urban water supply system for Erbil.
Position: Assistant Teaching, Assistant Professor From: 01.09.2020 - 01.10.2023
Teaching Assistant and Assistant Professor at Gdańsk University of Technology, contributing to civil and environmental engineering education through supporting lectures and tutorials, delivering practical and problem-solving sessions, and assisting in course coordination. My responsibilities included preparing and updating teaching materials, guiding students during laboratory and class activities, supervising student assignments and projects, and supporting assessment and grading to ensure learning outcomes were achieved.
Position: Civil Engineer From: 12.08.2009 - 17.10.2018
The Bahrka Interchange is a major transport infrastructure project in Erbil, located on the 100m Street and Bahrka New Road. The works include an underpass, two overfly bridges connecting the 100m Street with the 40m Street and Bahrka New Road, as well as a pump station, box culvert, and associated roadworks. I served as the Project Manager and a member of the Supervision Committee, overseeing implementation, coordination, and site progress to ensure compliance with approved designs and project standards.
CCG (Jordan) was commissioned by the Ministry of Municipalities & Tourism (KRG) / Erbil Municipality to deliver the engineering studies, detailed design, and contract documents for the 150m-wide Ring Road encircling Erbil city. The project comprises approximately 70 km of roadway and includes six major intersections: Kirkuk, Makhmur, Al-Mosel, Koysinjaq, Shaqlawa, and Dohouk. The overall scope was structured into five contracts to facilitate implementation and execution management.
In my role as Head of the Supervision Committee, I led the technical follow-up and coordination of design outputs and deliverables, supported stakeholder communication, and ensured the project documentation met required standards for procurement and execution.
Worked on the construction of the Cihan Interchange, involving an underpass and overpass as part of a major urban transportation upgrade (project value approximately USD 21 million). As a Site Engineer, I supported day-to-day site execution by coordinating activities with the construction team, monitoring progress against drawings and specifications, and assisting with field problem-solving. I also prepared daily site reports covering manpower, equipment, work quantities, and key activities, and supervised the manufacturing of pre-tension girders at the fabrication plant to verify production quality and compliance with technical requirements.
