Come and encounter ancient Jewish history—not through texts, but through artifacts! These images represent actual objects which add dimensions and nuanced perspectives to some familiar and not-so-familiar stories from our past. The exhibition has been divided into three general categories: ritual life, daily life, and magic. Go exploring. You’ll be glad that you did.
These artifacts were collected as student presentations in a JTS course on "Jews and Judaism in the Ancient World," taught by Yitz Landes during the fall semester of 2020. The summaries and this site were put together by Kevin Peters and Ilana Sandberg as a review of the work of the entire class.
