My name is Ryan Campbell. I’m from Boone, NC and went to school at Appalachian State. I’ve spent the last six years working as a ski patroller, raft guide, and wild land fire fighter. Growing up I dreamt of living and working out west. Although this goal was always in the back of my mind, the path to living and working in California was not straight forward. That is why I have started the Anchor Point Mentorship program. I want to help young adults out east accomplish their dreams of moving west, specifically to work in wild land fire.

In my opinion, wild land fire is a great job for someone hoping to see the west as well as build a long lasting career. There are many different types of crews spread out all across the country. It is a career field, where the only limits to your success is how hard you are willing to work. Wild land fire is a tight knit community and many times its is extremely helpful to have someone to help you through the process of applying for jobs. I would like to make myself available to guide interested parties through the application process.
