The purpose of this agreement is to regulate the voluntary, free, and unpaid participation of the volunteer in the first stage of the project, focused on networking, initial representation, and institutional engagement in Denmark.
2. Nature of the Volunteering.
Participation is voluntary and does not constitute an employment, contractual, or paid service relationship.
It does not generate any labor, social security, or salary rights.
The volunteer may terminate their participation at any time by notifying the Sanctuary's Management beforehand.
3. Volunteer Responsibilities.
The responsibilities may include, flexibly and according to availability:
Support in identifying and managing institutional, cultural, and community contacts in Denmark.
Initial representation of the project before local organizations, networks, and stakeholders, in coordination with the Director.
Support in intercultural communication and contextualizing the project within the Danish framework.
Providing feedback on the local social and institutional context.
Most importantly, the volunteer will request guidance from the municipality to determine how to present the project to the government, to whom to send it, and how to follow up on the request.
These responsibilities do not involve binding decision-making or formal legal representation of the project.
4. Duration.
This agreement has a temporary and flexible duration, associated with the first stage of the project, with an initial estimated duration that may be adjusted by mutual agreement.
5. Sanctuary Commitments.
The Sanctuary commits to:
Providing clear and up-to-date information about the project.
Formally acknowledge the volunteer's participation through written confirmation or certification.
Cover, when possible and by prior agreement, expenses directly associated with the volunteer activity.
Respect the volunteer's time, availability, and limitations.
Volunteers may request the Ancestral Medicine Manual, created for the Sanctuary's special needs students, as an incentive if they wish. It is available in digital PDF format.
6. Volunteer Commitments.
The volunteer commits to:
Act responsibly, with cultural respect and ethical conduct.
Represent the project faithfully, adhering to its principles and objectives.
Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive project information.
Promptly report any conflict of interest.
7. Ethical Principles.
Volunteering is governed by the principles of:
Cultural and territorial respect.
Transparency and good faith.
No cultural appropriation.

8. Non-Exclusivity.
Voluntary participation is not exclusive and does not prevent the volunteer from participating in other activities, projects, or institutions.
9. Modifications.

10. Acceptance.
Signing this agreement implies full acceptance of its terms and conditions.
