Main goal of the project:

The major scientific and technical challenges that will be addressed within the present proposal refer to development/validation of fed-batch and continuous mode operation of MFC for wastewater treatment with self-sustained electricity generation using microorganisms.

The scientific objectives of the proposal are:

• Development of carbon nanostructures precursors with different morphologies

• Development and validation of nitrogen-containing carbon nanostructures as anode modifier

• Evaluation of the experimental model of MFC operating in fed batch conditions

• Validation of the experimental model of MFC operating in fed batch conditions (laboratory scale)

• Development of continuous mode operation MFCs working in the laboratory environment
