Main goal of the project:
The major scientific and technical challenges that will be addressed within the present proposal refer to development/validation of fed-batch and continuous mode operation of MFC for wastewater treatment with self-sustained electricity generation using microorganisms.
The scientific objectives of the proposal are:
Development of carbon nanostructures precursors with different morphologies
Development and validation of nitrogen-containing carbon nanostructures as anode modifier
Evaluation of the experimental model of MFC operating in fed batch conditions
Validation of the experimental model of MFC operating in fed batch conditions (laboratory scale)
Development of continuous mode operation MFCs working in the laboratory environment
