Family ties are a very important symbol within Anastasia. Because of this, I, Belle, (one of the dramaturgs) wanted to focus on this relation with the cast + crew and their own family members. We all brought a picture of an ancestor or family member and a story about them as well. We went around and shared their stories and it was really amazing to see connections that people could make from these personal stories to their characters in the musical.

Additionally, we played a game where we were called by different names, either our first or last name. After playing and sharing these stories, we were all able to reflect on the complicated weight that a name can have in one's life.
