## 1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Anara AI Research Papers ("Anara", "the App", "we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Anara AI.
## 2. Description of Service
Anara is an AI-powered research assistant designed to help researchers, students, and professionals read, organize, and understand academic papers. The App provides the following features:
- Document import and management (PDF, RTF, TXT)
- AI-powered document chat, summarization, and analysis
- Automated flashcard and quiz generation
- Note-taking and annotation tools
- Citation generation in multiple academic formats
- AI-assisted paper search and discovery
- Document collections and organization
Features may be added, modified, or removed at our discretion.
## 3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Anara. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you may only use the App with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.
## 4. User Responsibilities
You agree to the following when using Anara:
- You will only upload documents that you have the legal right to access and process
- You will not upload content that infringes on third-party copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
- You will not use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose
- You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
- You will not use automated systems or bots to access or interact with the App
- You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your documents and data
## 5. AI-Generated Content
Anara uses artificial intelligence to generate summaries, chat responses, flashcards, quizzes, and other content. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated content is provided for informational and educational purposes only
- AI outputs may contain inaccuracies, errors, omissions, or hallucinations
- You are solely responsible for verifying AI-generated content before relying on it for academic submissions, professional work, or any critical decisions
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated output
- AI-generated citations should always be verified against original sources before use in academic work
## 6. Intellectual Property
- The Anara app, including its design, code, branding, icons, and user interface, is the intellectual property of Anara AI and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws
- You retain full ownership of all documents you upload and all notes, annotations, or other content you create within the App
- We claim no ownership or license over your uploaded content
- You grant us a limited, device-local license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing App features (e.g., text extraction, AI analysis)
## 7. Daily Usage Limits
Anara provides a daily allowance of AI-powered features:
- Each user receives a fixed number of AI interactions per day, which resets every 24 hours
- AI interactions include chat messages, document summaries, flashcard generation, quiz generation, and agent queries
- Usage counts are tracked locally on your device
- We reserve the right to adjust daily limits at any time to ensure fair usage and service quality
- Circumventing or attempting to bypass daily limits is a violation of these Terms
## 8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
## 9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANARA AI AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF ACADEMIC WORK, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.
## 10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Anara AI and its affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
## 11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
## 12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
## 13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be reflected in the App with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Anara after any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
## 14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
