“Music can name the unnamable and communicate the unknowable!” Leonard Bernstein (Composer and Conductor, 1918-1990)

This enigmatic force is the reason for my music endeavor. It was December 2008, when I first heard Santoor at the live performance by the Maestro Pt. Shivkumar Sharma. In no time, I was enchanted by the melody created by this ethereal instrument.

In 2009 when I was 21, I commenced my Santoor training with no prior musical background. I have been fortunate to inculcate my skills under the guidance of Dr. Dhananjay Daithankar. This whole journey has shaped my entire being.

As a Santoor artist, I got to perform at various venues in Singapore. 'Esplanade Theaters by the bay Singapore' and 'Temple of Fine Arts Singapore' were the most momentous performances I cherish. I performed as an individual artist and as a part of an orchestra which was an interesting learning experience.

While graduating with the Doctorate in Medical Imaging at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore; Swar Santoor was one of the exclusive recollections as an artist. On this platform, I was able to conceptualize and execute this event with the help of other ten talented artists. At present, as I continue working as a research scientist at Harvard University located in Boston, United Stated of America; I am able to continue my musical journey with the blessing from my Guruji and my family.
