Anandmohan Naik

Anandmohan Naik, a veteran painter with ‘creative zeal’, started with Watercolour/Oil paintings & paper mâché sculptures as Contextual Modernist, like his Santiniketan Gurus, BinodeBehari & Ramkinker. But as an ‘Early adopter of Pure & Near Abstraction after waves of PAG & Gaitonde in 1960s in Mumbai’, he evolved unique ‘style of interplay of ‘Passing of Time & Organic Feel of Life Forces‘ theme shaping dreams, imagery of abstract sense of proportion’ in variety of mediums, including Watercolour, Oil Painting, MixMedia, Pen & Ink painting, Glass Paintings, Egg Tempura, Large Murals, Pottery & Deco Urns, Crumple Crush & BottleTop artefacts. His formal aesthetic abstracts with his Astitv colleagues, incl. Barwe in 73-76 were milestones. His later works show palette & textural quality of Abstract Expressionist Masters, Johnson Pollock, CliffordStill, NormanLewis
