Buddhadeb Basu, Tapasvī O Taraṅgiṇī (Bengali)
where an ignorant secluded man is initiated to the wordly bondages by the touch of une femme coquette, whereas the girl is overwhelmed by the surprise of his eyes. While the man searches for another glimpse of her feminine charm, she sets out in a quest for what’s more in her that’s undiscovered by male and female perceptions and can arouse surprise apart from desire. Finally, as they meet again, they both realize that the man must get rid of the sophistication of desire once he knew what it was and the girl must go in search of that other face of hers imperceptibe to human eyes in general, but that nevertheless exists.
The Adbhūta Rāmāyaṇa, attributed to Vālmīki (Sanskrita)
the text which amalgamates existing philosophies of Vaiṣṇava and Śākta traditions, with a new interpretation of the Rāmāyaṇa and life.
Rabindranath Tagore, Kathā (Bengali)
a collection of short stories written in verses from history, folklore and religious texts, which create a collage of practical Vēdantic philosophy.
Kālakuṭa, Śāmba (Bengali)
