The company was founded by Jeff Scheur, a former teacher, who had spent 8 years teaching English at a high school level. He gained his MA in education from the University of Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin college. He was passionate about creating a program to promote excellent writing skills in students, through an adaptive and personalized learning experience.
