Álvaro Doblas Rodrigo
Research Assistant
I am currently a research assistant at the Agri-Food Research and Technology Centre of Aragon (CITA). I hold a Bachelor Degree in Biology. In 2019, I started my predoctoral studies in the Natural Resources department of NEIKER - Basque Institute for Agricultural Research and Development. I was in charge of studying and mitigating emissions in dairy cattle farms. I used the RothC model to show the evolution of soil organic carbon of forage fields such as grasslands and corn crops under different climatic and management conditions in the Basque Country. Later, I did a short-stay with Dr. Katja Klumpp at INRAE-UREP (Clermont-Ferrand, France). We used the PaSim model to model grazing scenarios and show the variations of nitrogen, carbon and yield parameters. Currently, I am working on the Manage4Future project, whose main objective is to evaluate the effect of forest management on carbon sequestration and resilience of holm oak forests.

I am an Agricultural Engineer from Lebanon and a second-year CIHEAM-IAMZ master student in Sustainable Water Management and Governance in Natural and Agricultural Environments. My academic background and personal motivation are closely connected to understanding how ecosystems respond to changing environmental conditions.
I am currently working on my master’s thesis, which focuses on the effect of thinning on tree transpiration and forest water balance. This project gives me the chance to learn more about forest hydrology and how management practices influence ecosystem water use. I enjoy combining fieldwork and basic data analysis to support more sustainable approaches to managing water particularly in holm oak forests.

Mónica López Castillo
Bachelor Student
I am Mónica López, a graduate with a double degree in Environmental Sciences and Geography and Land Planning (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid). I participated in the MANAGE4FUTURE project, collaborating through my Bachelor's Thesis. In this work, I studied the holm oak woodlands included in the project as a study area, focusing on analyzing the effects of thinning on soil properties in Mediterranean holm oak ecosystems. This research provided valuable data to improve knowledge and promote the sustainable management of these ecosystems.

Ayoub El Mokhtari
Master Student
I hold a degree in Agronomic Engineering and a Master's degree in Sustainable Water Management at IAMZ (Zaragoza). My Master's Thesis, conducted at CITA Aragón, focused on investigating the impacts of daytime sprinkler irrigation on maize photosynthesis, evapotranspiration, and production, employing the robust Eddy covariance methodology. Currently, I am developing my PhD at the Higher Technical School of Agronomic and Forestry Engineering and Biotechnology (University of Castilla La Mancha) focused on remote sensing and agriculture.
