I’m sorry I haven’t done a speech in English yet. When I do, I will update this as soon as possible. So if you host an event and you’re interested in my participation, let's meet!
When Bulle, one of the Afrogameuses active members, asked me if I wanted to be part of a round table about role play games, pop culture, and how we could make people want to play too, I was delighted. It was a pleasant, rewarding moment between three very different Storytellers who share a common love for this hobby.
If you don't know yet the Afrogameuses, I deeply advice to take a look on their website: https://www.afrogameuses.com/
The Académie des Arts Techniques du Jeu Vidéo asked me if I would be interested to talk about my job, and I was glad to help.
My last intervention of this year was for the Belgian school HEPL (Haute Ecole de la Province de Liège) to speak during a round table discussion. The theme was “How women are pictured in video games”.
I was invited as a speaker for another school, in France, the IIM, for their Student Game Conference on Discord. It was similar to the Game Changers’ subject.
I couldn’t be physically at Game Changers in September - you know, some virus called “covid” you may have heard about - but I did it remotely. The subject was “Making an inclusive game: the ARISEN example”.
I regularly work with Afrogameuses, a French association which promotes diversity and inclusivity in the video game industry, especially for afrodescendant women.
In March, I talked about narrative design (and game writing) during a masterclass.
Erratum : someone pointed to me that I had been clumsy, insensitive while I was answering some questions about my work on ARISEN. I apologized in person but I want to make things clear, even if I have worded so poorly it doesn't fit my initial thought, I was not alone during the creation process. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to work with my associates back then.
The Maratus team came to Gamescom to show ARISEN to publishers in the B2B section.
With 3 other women who work in the video game industry, I was given the opportunity to talk about sexism in the sector. It was during the Japan Expo. The talk was managed by Emmanuel Forsans from the AFJV (the French agency for video games).
