A GLIMPSE INTO THE LIFE OF YOUR FAVORITE AUTHOR...
Hey there!
Okay, so I'm kinda sick of talking in third person, so let's switch to first person.
So...I'm Anabia S. Evergreen aka Anabia Saad and I'm a thirteen-year-old teen author. I'll be turning fourteen this fourteenth of December 2026...times flies fast, doesn't it?
I started writing when I was only an eleven-year-old girl with a wild imagination and a laptop.
I was in grade six at that time when the inspiration for Daniel Godfrey hit like a tidal wave. I was only reading my history book for fun when I came across this term called: "The Lost Cities". By the way, at that time I wasn't familiar of Harry Potter.
Then my annoying brain whispered, 'Hey, what if three besties ditch home to go on a mission to find the lost cities?'
I let that idea simmer for, I dunno, till November 2024?
There was this classmate of mine who was like...obsessed with Harry Potter. I didn't even know what the heck that thing was about. One day, I randomly decided: I'm gonna read Harry Potter.
I started with Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince and I was hooked from the very first line. That's when my brain cells whispered: "What if a wizarding world in... Pakistan?"
And that, my friends, is where my story begins...
MY WRITING JOURNEY!
I started with nothing. I had no plot. I had no outline. I just knew there was a wizard boy called Daniel, who gets accepted at a magical school and then he discovers the Lost Cities and has to chase them. I changed my first chapter multiple times and it was the hardest thing ever to do.
Okay now, let me drop a funny fact but please don't judge me: Daniel Godfrey was called Daniel Ashraf before.
LIKE I KNOW this sounds so cringe. I was ELEVEN. I thought that British x Pakistani combo was chef's kiss. But then my aunt was like, "it's just...meh." So I decided to change it to 'Daniel Elvyn'. At first, I liked it for exactly two minutes, before I changed it to 'Daniel Godfrey' and you know what? It clicked perfectly.
Anyways, so I started created my first draft on 29th of November 2024 and I don't remember exactly but I might have done so many changes mid-writing to it and looking at that draft, it's just way too different from the story I have right now. I remember having a lot of trouble with my first chapter and ever since that one first draft I have created about 25 more drafts and it's been a wild ride and even though it all drove me mad sometimes, I had so much fun doing that.
Also, fun fact, the day I finished my last draft was on 15th of December 2025, right after my birthday! Then I published it on Amazon KDP on 24th-ish of December 2025.
I tried promoting it on my youtube channel.
Problem was: 'No one took me seriously'.
Then around 24th-ish of January 2026, I unpublished. I felt like I needed to do some more changes. I did. Then I republished it on Amazon on March 17 and it's also going to be available on Draft2Digital soon hopefully.
Felt like a dream come true.
MY 'WIP'S (Work In Progress)
My current work in progress is...just one. And I've hit the Writer's Block (If you're a writer too, you know the pain). My current WIP is the second book in the Daniel Godfrey series and I'm on chapter two and stuck on the writer's block (yikes.) I'm not going to spill anything about it but trust me, it's going to be a wild ride.
(P.S. This might be the SHORTEST text in this whole page!)
