BSc (Hons), PhD (UWA, Perth)
Welcome,
My name is An Nguyen and I am a Cognitive Neuroscientist based in Western Australia. I'm interested in learning about the brain and all of the different kinds of techniques that enable us to study the brain. Outside of work, I love technology and making things - I have huge respect for all the scientists, engineers and makers out there. I also have a passion for learning and teaching - I love learning about how technology can enable us to do bigger and better things, and sharing this with the world.
I have a background in psychological science - I did a PhD where I used electroencephalography (EEG) and the event-related potential (ERP) technique to investigate the development of response inhibition and feedback processing during the adolescent-adult transition. I was awarded my PhD (UWA, Perth) in August 2018.
Currently I'm working at Curtin University (Perth) as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate where I am using EEG and time-frequency based analyses, EMG and force-sensors to study how intense acoustic stimulation interacts with the brain's motor system during movement preparation.
Take care and thanks for stopping by,
An T. Nguyen
Here you will find posts sharing what I do, and how I do things. Just as a disclaimer, I definitely don't know everything about the topics I post about - I know enough just to get by. So take this for what it is, random internet content - don't blindly trust what you read.
If you have any feedback and helpful advice for me - feel free to send me an e-mail (see Links Section).
