This career change to teaching comes after a decade in the nonprofit industry. I feel strongly that many of the skills I obtained through prior education and experience have translated well into my role as an educator. A foundation of strong verbal and written communication and planning skills have yielded themselves well throughout my teacher education, clinical practice, and obtained leave coverage opportunities. Through my experiences in the classroom thus far I have gained practice and continued to learn the crucial skills of classroom management, differentiation, assessment, and collaboration.
