"Amy's Mission Friends" is a group of friends and community members who work together to share the love of Jesus where we live and around the world!
My name is Amy Ashberry, and I live in Mathews, Virginia. I am a Jesus follower, daughter, sister, friend, mission leader, world traveler, public school Pre-K teacher, shoebox packer, and year-round volunteer for Operation Christmas Child. This is a website where you can follow the mission trips and projects I lead and learn how you can be a part. The mission is simple- to deliver the hope of Jesus through acts of love and service in our community and around the world.
Our project with the most widespread participation is Operation Christmas Child. Our shoebox community gives generously for us to pack shoebox gifts for children around the world. The boxes are filled with school supplies, toys, hygiene items, clothing, shoes, love, and prayer. What began with 225 boxes packed in my mom's garage in 2020 has grown exponentially each year, now having sent gifts to 24,168 children across the globe, allowing them to learn about the love of Jesus Christ. The gift is often the first gift a child has ever received, and the gift is given at an outreach event, where the Gospel of Christ is shared with children and families. OCC statistics prove that each shoebox can impact 7-10 lives. That means that our community of 8,500 has impacted as many as 241,680 people. Imagine the global communities, orphanages, war zones, villages, churches, and literal ends of the earth where our love has reached!!
