I manage social media strategy and execution for several local organizations and events, including Charleston Running Club, James Island Connector Run, Miles for Michael 5.12K, and Charleston Veterans Day 5K.
Starting in 2019, I grew the Charleston Running Club Instagram from approximately 300 followers to more than 6,000. Our Facebook and Instagram kept the local running community engaged during the COVID-19 pandemic. This ensured our brand stayed on their minds, enabling a smoother return to in-person group runs and the return of the three local road races we direct.
As a social media manager, I:
* Develop concise, high-impact microcopy that communicates key event details (who, what, when, where, why) in a clear and engaging format
* Design on-brand, visually engaging graphics using Canva, promoting events and driving participation
* Maintain consistent posting schedules across Facebook and Instagram, increasing audience engagement and awareness
* Schedule and publish content via Meta Business Suite, optimizing post timing (early mornings) for maximum reach and visibility
* Collaborate with sponsors and community partners on cross-promotions, campaigns, and event marketing initiatives
* Monitor and respond to audience interactions, inquiries, questions, comments, and concerns in a timely manner, ensuring a positive community experience.
