Mushroom Hunter Project

This project began shortly after the start of the COVID pandemic in March 2020. I began to hear about how more and more people were interested in mushroom hunting- but was that actually true? And if it was, then why?

And so this project began. I am interested in how people learn to hunt for mushrooms. I'm interested in the role that in-person events as well as social media- where are people turning to for their information on mushrooms?

And, of course, I'm interested in mushrooms! Specifically, what mushrooms are people most interested in in the region and what are they using them for? This might seem like common sense, but there has been very little formal research on this topic in the mid-Atlantic.
