Amwell Community Choir

Now in its 9th season, the Amwell Community Choir is for Islington locals who love to sing. This Autumn, we'll be rehearsing in the kitchen of St Mark's Church in Myddelton Square, starting on Thursday 19th September at 8pm. We're an open-access choir, which learns and performs traditional and modern arrangements in a relaxed and low-stress way, and you'd be free to join us any week to see what it's like. There's no audition, recordings are provided for each part, and if you decide to join, it costs just £20 for an eight-week term.

Rehearsals run on a Thursday evening from 8 till 9.15pm, led by Jeremy Hobson, who has more than 20 years' experience of conducting choral music. The choir sings in four parts, and this term we'll be learning two songs, one traditional and one more modern. Each of seasons normally ends with a public performance as part of a carol service or Summer concert in St Mark's Myddelton Square.

Recommendations from previous seasons:

“I’ve loved being part of the Amwell Community Choir. It’s a great stress reliever at the end of the day, and lots of fun to sing alongside and meet new people. Hearing the end product when we perform it has been great.” - Sophie

“A great way to exercise the pipes among a fun and friendly bunch. 10/10 would recommend.” - Tom

Rehearsals for the Autumn 2023 season begin on Thursday 19th September, and the choir has space for new members.
