Amwell Community Choir

Now in its 10th season, the Amwell Community Choir is for Islington locals who love to sing. This Summer, we'll be rehearsing in the Meditatio Centre of St Mark's Church in Myddelton Square, starting on Thursday 6th June at 8pm. We're an open-access choir, which learns and performs traditional and modern arrangements in a relaxed and low-stress way, and you'd be free to join us any week to see what it's like. There's no audition, recordings are provided for each part, and if you decide to join, it costs just £25 for this six-week term.

Excerpts from last year's Summer Concert

Rehearsals run on a Thursday evening from 8 till 9.15pm, led this term by Sarah Gentle, who has  lots of experience with conducting choral music. The choir sings in four parts, and this term we'll be learning three songs, in a variety of styles. Each of seasons normally ends with a public performance as part of a carol service or Summer concert in St Mark's Myddelton Square.

Rehearsals for the Summer 2024 season begin on Thursday 6th July, and the choir has space for new members.

  • What: Informal choir rehearsal with refreshments

  • How much: £25 for the whole term (less than £5 per rehearsal), to cover the cost of buying music legally, and renting the space where we meet.
