This section will be a dedicated source for players to refer to the Corpora as it exists with amendments updated into it as they are passed. The link at the bottom of the page will have a Google Doc version of the document for players to easily download or print.
Section 1. NAME
The name of the organization is Amtgard, Kingdom of Dragonspine, Inc (Kingdom of Dragonspine, Dragonspine, and the Kingdom). Amtgard, Kingdom of Dragonspine, Inc is a registered Non Profit Organization within the state of New Mexico that operates in Arizona and is a federal 501(c3).
Section 2. PURPOSE & SCOPE
Amtgard is an educational and recreational organization that teaches the medieval and swords and sorcery Amtgard, hosts Amtgard games, and engages in medieval and swords and sorcery LARP re-enactment: cooking, sewing, and hand-crafting skills
Dragonspine is an autonomous kingdom of Amtgard who participates in associated chapters (in portions of Arizona/New Mexico).
Dragonspine sponsors several smaller chapters that also play Amtgard but are not autonomous kingdoms.
Chapters are commonly referred to as “parks” or “Parks”
Dragonspine typically meets at those associated chapters where battlegames, ditches, tournaments and events are held using the Amtgard Rules of Play.
Kingdom Events may take place at any sponsored chapter or at any location determined by the Monarchy.
Section 1. TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
A non-voting member does not have to meet any attendance requirements and has not paid dues within the kingdom.
All members of all chapters sponsored by the kingdom are considered to be non-voting members of the kingdom.
A voting member (or dues-paid member) must:
Have a signed waiver on record in Dragonspine for at least six months.
Examples of waivers can be found at Dragonspine.net, Kingdom of Dragonspine Facebook page, and Discord announcements channel.
Maintain membership in no other Amtgard chapters.
Be currently dues-paid within the Kingdom of Dragonspine, with dues being $10 within a six month period.
Have no membership in other Amtgard chapters not sponsored by Dragonspine for the previous six months.
Be at least 14 years old.
Players must have at least twelve chapter attendance sign-ins in six months.
Section 2. LIMITATIONS
Membership is limited to persons who have signed a waiver and have their Amtgard records maintained exclusively in the Kingdom of Dragonspine and sponsored chapters.
Persons under the age of 18 may only join if their legal guardian signs a waiver for them.
No person under the age of 14 may be a member unless their parent or legal guardian has been present for at least four Amtgard functions and they have the express permission of the Monarch.
Section 3. CODE OF CONDUCT
Kingdom of Dragonspine adheres to updates and edits to the Code of Conduct per the Rules of Play.
Amtgard strives to maintain a fun, friendly, welcoming environment for mature players. As such the following behaviors are not acceptable and may lead to ban from combat or attending:
Speech that would cause a reasonable person to fear for their property or safety.
Physical violence outside of the normal bounds of combat conduct.
Sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual contact.
Theft or willful destruction of other peoples' property.
Repeated unwillingness to follow game rules.
Creating a hostile environment detrimental to the enjoyment of the group as a whole. This includes engaging in online or in person harassment.
Violating the Amtgard Youth Protection Policy
Section 4. SUSPENSION/TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
A person whose membership becomes terminated is no longer a member of the kingdom.
Members may voluntarily terminate their own membership.
Membership is automatically terminated when a member begins maintaining their records in another Amtgard chapter not sponsored by the kingdom.
Members who have terminated their own membership voluntarily or through maintaining their records in another Amtgard chapter may restore their membership by communicating their intent to the Prime Minister and maintaining their records solely in the Kingdom of Dragonspine or one of its sponsored chapters.
A person's membership may be suspended or terminated by joint agreement of either the Kingdom or chapter level suspension team, which includes the Monarch, Prime Minister, and Guildmaster of Reeves.
Cases in which membership may be terminated include, but are not limited to:
Repeated violations of the Amtgard Rules of Play.
Violent or dangerous behavior during game play.
Criminal activity at Amtgard events.
The Amtgard code of conduct.
Termination of membership may be temporary at the discretion of the Kingdom or local Monarch, or suspension team as defined by the Rules of Play.
A local suspension may be propagated to the Kingdom level suspension team at the discretion of the local suspension team.
A person whose membership has been suspended or terminated may appeal to current or future monarchs directly.
Section 5. AUTOMATIC CODE OF CONDUCT RECIPROCITY WITH ALL KINGDOMS
Any player suspended or terminated in their kingdom(s) of residence as defined in the Rules of Play, for any reason, including all sections of the Code of Conduct, is suspended or terminated from play in Dragonspine. These suspensions or terminations may not be overturned by the Kingdom of Dragonspine or any local chapter monarchs.
Section 6. CREDITS
All members who attend an official chapter activity or official event shall be entitled to one class attendance credit for the day.
Chapter activities and events typically occur once each week.
All members who attend a scheduled fighter practice shall be entitled to one class attendance credit.
All members who attend a scheduled A&S gathering shall be entitled to one class attendance credit.
No matter how many fighter practices or A&S gathering a player attends during a single week, only one single credit may be gained for the week from attendance to each of these activities.
The Kingdom Monarch may issue no more than a total of 12 bonus credits in a single month. The Kingdom Monarch may award additional credits for members traveling to visit other parks.
Chapter Monarchs may issue up to 2 bonus credits during the course of their reign.
Members may earn no more than twelve class attendance credits per month.
Section 1. GENERAL INFORMATION
The offices of Monarch, Regent, Champion, Guildmaster of Reeves and Prime Minister are known collectively as the Monarchy.
The Monarch, Regent, Champion, and Prime Minister are not required to pay any fees, and are considered to be dues-paid members while in office, and any dues already paid shall resume after they leave office.
The Monarch-elect, Regent-elect, Champion-elect, Heir Apparent-elect, are not required to pay any fees to attend the coronation feast at which they take office.
A complete term of office ("reign" for royalty, "term" for other officers) lasts six months.
All officers must be at least 18 years old.
No person may hold more than one of the offices of the Kingdom at the same time.
All officers must be dues-paid members of the Kingdom of Dragonspine.
The Monarch and Regent are known collectively as the Crown.
In the event that an officer does not attend regular meetings at a Kingdom of Dragonspine chapter for four weeks in a row or six weeks total, that officer shall descend from office.
An officer may ask the Althing to excuse absences resulting from special situations or time spent at other Amtgard functions.
Section 2. MONARCH
The Monarch (King, Queen, Emperor, Empress, etc.) is the highest ranking official in the Kingdom and is the chief executive officer.
The Monarch shall be elected during the Month of the Crown.
Candidates for Monarch must pass a reeves test with a score of 75% or better and a Corpora test with a score of 70% or better. These tests must be taken prior to elections.
The Monarch presides over all official functions and ceremonies.
The exceptions are the Board of Directors, which is presided over by the President of the Board and the Guild of Knights, which is presided over by the Guildmaster of Knights.
The Monarch shall hold an automatic seat on the Board of Directors.
The Monarch represents the Kingdom to the rest of Amtgard.
The Monarch shall have the power to break all ties in all elections and Althings.
The exceptions include situations in which the Monarch is a candidate in the election, in which case the Prime Minister breaks the tie, or the election is for the Guildmaster of Knights, in which case the knights shall decide how to break the tie.
If the Monarch and the Prime Minister are both involved in the election as candidates, the power to break ties falls to the next highest uninvolved person in the Order of Precedence.
The Monarch may never receive any orders, titles, masterhoods, or knighthoods while in office.
The Monarch may bestow any order, masterhood, title, or knighthood to any member of the Kingdom of Dragonspine or its sponsored chapters.
The Monarch may create and bestow new orders, masterhoods and titles.
A Monarch may never bestow orders, masterhoods, titles or knighthoods to members of another Kingdom or its sponsored chapters without the consent of that Kingdom Monarch.
The Monarch is not required to pay any fees and is considered to be a dues-paid member (Art II, sec 1.2) while in office, and any dues already paid by the Monarch shall resume after the Monarch leaves office.
Should the position of Monarch become empty, the Regent shall assume the office of pro-tem Monarch for the remainder of the term of office.
No person may hold the office of Monarch for more than two consecutive terms.
Section 3. REGENT
The Regent (Prince Regent, Princess Regent, Prince Elect, Princess Elect, Prince, Princess, etc.) is the second-highest ranking official in the Kingdom and is the chief arts and sciences officer.
The Regent shall be elected during the Month of the Crown.
Candidates for Regent must pass a reeves test with a score of 75% or better and a Corpora test with a score of 70% or better. These tests must be taken prior to elections.
The Regent shall ascend to the position of pro-tem Monarch should the position of Monarch become empty.
The Regent shall lead and be responsible for the College of Arts and Sciences and its weekly meetings (Collegium).
The College of Arts and Sciences typically meet once a week.
The Regent shall be in charge of the coronation and midreign events.
The Regent shall be in charge of coodinating Cultural events.
The Regent may bestow certain orders on any member of the Kingdom of Dragonspine and its sponsored chapters.
The Regent may only grant Orders of the Rose, Lion, Owl, Dragon, Garber and Faïcade.
The Regent may create and bestow new orders in keeping with the duties of the Regent.
The Regent is not required to pay any fees and is considered to be a dues-paid member while in office, and any dues already paid by the Regent shall resume after the Regent leaves offices.
Should the position of Regent become empty, the Monarch must appoint a dues-paid member as pro-tem Regent for the remainder of the term of office.
No person may hold the office of Regent for more than two consecutive terms.
Section 4. CHAMPION
The Champion is the third-highest ranking official in the Kingdom and is the chief safety officer.
The Champion shall be elected during the Month of the Crown.
The Champion shall uphold the honor of the Crown and the Kingdom.
The Champion shall organize battle games and ditches on days when no predetermined scenarios are scheduled.
The Champion is responsible for ensuring that all battle games and battlefield equipment are legal and safe according to the Amtgard Rules of Play.
The Champion may remove people or equipment from the field to ensure safety.
The Champion shall maintain the Kingdom lost and found.
The Kingdom Champion shall direct or instruct chapter Champions on the process of inspecting all field equipment in use in the Kingdom on a monthly basis, in a public manner.
Monthly equipment checks shall be scheduled and announced ahead of time and shall be conducted in a public manner.
The chapter Champion shall maintain a supply of loaner weapons for use by players.
This responsibility may be delegated if necessary.
Should the position of Champion become vacant, the Monarch must appoint a dues-paid member as pro-term Champion for the remainder of the term of office.
Section 5. PRIME MINISTER
The Prime Minister (PM) is the fourth-highest ranking official in the Kingdom and is the secretary-treasurer of the Kingdom.
The Prime Minister is responsible for appropriate measures of document access control and handling to be used to safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII), sensitive financial data, etc as necessary.
The Prime Minister shall be elected three months after the coronation of the Monarch.
Candidates for Prime Minister must pass a reeves test with a score of 75% or better and a Corpora test with a score of 70% or better. These tests must be taken before elections.
The Prime Minister must have regular and reliable access to a computer and the Internet.
All Kingdom and park level elections shall be conducted by the Prime Minister, except
Prime Minister and Board elections, which shall be conducted by the Guildmaster of Reeves
The Circle of Knights, which shall conduct its own elections
Elections in which the Prime Minister is involved as a candidate, which shall be conducted by the highest ranking officer not running for election.
The Prime Minister is responsible for maintaining accurate and current records of all members of the Kingdom.
Ensures all records exist in either the ORK or other agreed upon record keeping platform. If there exists a hard copy of the records it shall be called ‘The Book of the Living.’
Ensures all chapter Prime Ministers keep an easily accessible record of all local waiver information.
Each member's records shall include their credits, dues-paid status, orders, masterhoods, titles and knighthoods, waiver information, name, phone number and address, emergency contact information, and persona information.
An online version of the records shall be maintained and kept current to include all members credits, dues-paid status, and orders, masterhoods, titles and knighthoods.
For online versions of player/Kingdom records, the Kingdom Prime Minister will be able to assist the local Prime Ministers to the best of their ability with the use of the ORK.
The records must be updated on a weekly basis.
Records that have not been updated in the last six months shall be stored separately as a physical copy of the Book of the Dead or moved to the ‘Inactive Players’ on the ORK.
The Prime Minister is responsible for maintaining the Kingdom treasury, and for maintaining accurate and current records thereof.
Records of the treasury shall include detailed, clear, current, and accurate information concerning Kingdom income, Kingdom expenditures, current Kingdom funds, and receipts for all expenditures.
An accurate and current financial report must be provided by the Prime Minister for publication in every Kingdom newsletter.
The Prime Minister must provide an accurate and current monthly report to the Treasurer of the Board of Directors.
The Prime Minister shall collect dues and fees.
The Prime Minister shall maintain accurate and current records of all Kingdom contractual obligations.
The Prime Minister shall be responsible for providing Kingdom members with access to copies of the club publications, including rulebooks, the Corpora of Bylaws, newsletters, all supplements to the rulebook or Corpora, and any other applicable publications.
A fee may be charged for these publications to cover the cost of their production.
The Prime Minister shall hold an automatic seat on the Board of Directors.
Upon being elected, the Prime Minister shall assume financial responsibility for the treasury by signing a contract with the Kingdom stating said responsibility.
Should funds in the treasury go missing and the Prime Minister is found to be responsible, the Prime Minister will be required to make restitution for those funds and may be subject to suspension and/or legal action.
Should the position of Prime Minister become vacant, the Guildmaster of Reeves shall conduct a new election to elect a pro-tem Prime Minister.
Section 6. GUILDMASTER OF REEVES
The Guildmaster of Reeves (GMR) is the fifth-highest ranking official in the Kingdom and is the chief rules officer.
The Guildmaster shall be elected during the Month of the Crown by all dues-paid members of the Kingdom for the next reign.
The Guildmaster of Reeves shall work with the Monarch and the Champion to ensure that the rules are applied accurately and fairly.
The Guildmaster of Reeves shall work with the Champion to ensure that all battlefield equipment is legal and safe according to the Amtgard Rules of Play.
The Guildmaster of Reeves may remove people or equipment from the field to ensure safety.
The Guildmaster of Reeves shall ensure that there are an appropriate number of reeves at any local chapter event and that the conduct of those reeves is competent and fair.
Prime Minister elections shall be conducted by the Guildmaster of Reeves.
The Guildmaster of Reeves shall be in charge of coordinating fighting events.
The Guildmaster of Reeves must make reeve and Corpora tests available from three weeks prior to any election until the election itself, except for Board elections, and may make the tests available at other times on an individual basis.
The reeve test must be written so that someone familiar with the Amtgard Rules of Play can pass the test with a score of 75% or greater.
The Corpora test must be written so that someone familiar with this Corpora can pass the test with a score of 70% or greater.
Both tests shall consist of twenty-five questions each.
Someone may take three different versions of each test, one of which may be verbal, until they are considered to have failed the tests for purposes of running for an office that requires passing scores on each test.
If the Guildmaster of Reeves is running for an office, then the tests will be administered by another member of the Kingdom level officers.
Should the position of Guildmaster of Reeves become vacant, the Monarch must appoint a dues-paid member of the Kingdom populace who is reeves-qualified as pro-tem Guildmaster of Reeves for the remainder of the term of office.
Section 7. ORDER OF PRECEDENCE
The Order of Precedence in the Kingdom is Monarch, Regent, Champion, Prime Minister, and the Guildmaster of Reeves.
The Order of Precedence exists to determine which person is in charge of events on any given meeting of Amtgard in Dragonspine.
The Order of Precedence does not allow an officer to assume the duties of an office that is higher than their station, and only allows them to take charge in order to ensure that events proceed in a smooth and orderly fashion.
Should the positions of Monarch and Regent simultaneously be vacant, the Champion may ascend to the position of pro-tem Monarch provided they pass a vote of confidence by Althing appropriate to the position.
Should the positions of Monarch, Regent and Champion simultaneously be vacant, the Althing shall appoint a pro-tem Monarch.
Section 8: FLOATING CROWN
All voting members may run and vote for Kingdom-level monarchy offices.
For purposes of running and voting for these offices, “voting member” as defined in ARTICLE II, Section 1-2 shall include members of all Kingdom chapters.
This election shall be conducted by prime ministers in all chapters, and the results shall be reported to the Kingdom prime minister no later than midnight on Sunday (Mountain Time) the week of elections.
The champion’s tournament to select a champion shall be held at Kingdom crown qualifications.
For purposes of resolving Article V, Section 6, “regular meeting days” shall include any twelve distinct weekly attendances at official events, local Amtgard, convergences, and similar credited gatherings. The Amtgard Rules of Play governs credits.
There is no prohibition on holding local office and Kingdom office simultaneously.
This amendment does not otherwise affect who may run or vote for Kingdom offices.
All voting members may vote in the Kingdom Althing.
For purposes of voting in the Althing, “voting member” as defined in ARTICLE II, Section 1-2 shall include members of all Kingdom chapters.
For purposes of voting in the Althing, voting eligibility shall have an attendance requirement identical to that required to vote for Kingdom office.
Althing votes shall be conducted by prime ministers in all chapters, and the results shall be reported to the Kingdom prime minister no later than midnight on Sunday (Mountain Time) the week of the Althing.
All voting members may run and vote for the Kingdom board of directors.
For purpose of running and voting for these offices, “voting member” as defined in ARTICLE II, Section 1-2 shall include members of all Kingdom chapters.
This election shall be conducted by prime ministers in all chapters, and the results shall be reported to the Kingdom prime minister no later than midnight on Sunday (Mountain Time) the week of elections.
For purposes of voting for the board of directors, voting eligibility shall have an attendance requirement identical to that required to vote for Kingdom office.
The board may appoint eligible voting members to fill vacant seats until the next board elections.
This amendment does not otherwise affect who may run or vote for the board of directors.
Kingdom officers have modified attendance requirements and full authority to grant all awards per the corpora.
Kingdom officers may have any chapter of Dragonspine count as “the main park of Dragonspine” for purposes of meeting the attendance requirements listed in Article III, Section 1-7.
Kingdom officers shall descend from office if they do not attend their Kingdom coronation, Kingdom midreign, or Kingdom end-reign.
In order to bestow any knighthood, a Kingdom monarch shall consult with the dues-paid members of the Circle of Knights who are eligible to vote per Article V, Section 1. This consultation shall be facilitated by the Guildmaster of Knights, who shall conduct a discussion and a vote on any candidates presented by the Kingdom monarch. The Kingdom monarch shall be added to the Circle of Knights discussion group for the duration of their reign.
Local chapters shall control their own funds, and shall be given opportunities for input regarding suspensions under review.
The Kingdom shall not be permitted to spend any part of any local chapter’s treasury without that local chapter’s Althing approval.
A Kingdom monarch considering overturning a suspension shall advise the Kingdom of such intent, and shall give the populace a window of 30 days to reach out to the Kingdom monarchy with any concerns. Communications to this effect shall include no personal identifying details, although the Kingdom monarch may include the persona name of the suspended player. Communications to this effect online shall be locked for comments.
Kingdom event locations may be determinded by a bid process
Kingdom events shall be hosted by a chapter determinded by the Kingdom monarch. A chapter wishing to host a Kingdom event must submit a bid to the Kingdom monarch, and the winning bid must be announced at least three weeks in advance. unless no other bids are submitted, no chapter may host the same Kingdom event for two consecutive reigns.
The Transition Committee shall have authority to hear questions and issue clarifications regarding this amendment.
Such clarifications shall be submitted to the Kingdom monarchy for approval.
Section 1. GENERAL INFORMATION
The Kingdom may sponsor other Amtgard chapters, making them a subsidiary part of the Kingdom of Dragonspine.
All subsidiary chapters are bound by the Amtgard Rules of Play, rules updates issued by the Kingdom, the Corpora where it applies to running groups smaller than a Kingdom, and the contract signed with the Kingdom. Sponsored chapters fall under the Kingdom NPO.
This Corpora is written as a document for governing the Kingdom and careful attention should be paid to these bylaws to determine the limitations placed upon sponsored chapters.
Attendance in a sponsored chapter is determined by counting the number of that chapter's participants in Amtgard at that chapter each weekend and averaging the results over a six month period.
The Kingdom may audit any sponsored chapter at any time, in addition to bi-annual land audits, to ensure the smooth operation of the sponsored chapter and to help in the determination of any change in the sponsored chapter’s status.
Meeting the criteria for a certain status does not automatically convey that status.
A sponsored chapter must petition the kingdom to request a change of status.
The kingdom may demote a sponsored group in status if the sponsored group fails to maintain the criteria for their current status for a period of six months or more.
If the kingdom chapter would like to grant an award to a visiting player they must contact the Kingdom Monarchy team or that member’s park Monarchy team to approve said award.
A visiting player may not be awarded orders or titles of nobility at a higher level than that visiting player’s home chapter, unless approved by the Kingdom monarchy
A visiting player from another kingdom should have their orders or titles recommended to that visiting player’s home kingdom for approval.
Section 2. ORDER OF PRECEDENCE
The Order of Precedence in each sponsored chapter is Monarch, Regent, Champion, Prime Minister, and the Guildmaster of Reeves.
The Order of Precedence exists to determine which person is in charge of events on any given meeting of Amtgard in Dragonspine.
The Order of Precedence does not allow an officer to assume the duties of an office that is higher than their station, and only allows them to take charge in order to ensure that events proceed in a smooth and orderly fashion.
Should the positions of Monarch and Regent simultaneously be vacant, the Champion may ascend to the position of pro-tem Monarch provided they pass a vote of confidence by Althing appropriate to the position.
Should the positions of Monarch, Regent and Champion simultaneously be vacant, the Althing shall appoint a pro-tem Monarch.
Section 3. SHIRE
A Shire must have at least five members, have signed a contract with Dragonspine, have a contract with Amtgard, Inc and meet at least once every other week
A Shire is at minimum required to have a Monarch and Prime Minister that are not the same individual.
The Monarch of a Shire is called a Sheriff.
A Sheriff may award first and second levels of any order.
A Sheriff may not award any titles of nobility, paragons, masterhoods, or knighthoods.
A Regent of a Shire may award first and second levels of Orders of the Rose, Lion, Owl, Dragon, and Garber.
Section 4. BARONY
A Barony must have fifteen members. have signed a contract with Dragonspine, have a contract with Amtgard, Inc, meet at least once a week, have a bank account with a local bank under the chapter’s name, have held elections every six months as per this Corpora, and organize chapter government using this Corpora as a guideline.
A Barony is required to have a Monarch, Regent, Champion, Prime Minister, and Guildmaster of Reeves.
The Monarch of a Barony is called a Baron or its equivalent.
A Baron may award first through fifth levels of any order.
A Baron may award the title of Lord or Baronet once per reign,
A Baron may not award paragons, masterhoods, or knighthoods.
The Regent of a Barony may award first through fifth levels of Orders of the Rose, Lion, Owl, Dragon, and Garber.
Section 5. DUCHY
A Duchy must have at least thirty members, have signed a contract with Dragonspine, have been a Barony for at least one year and held at least two sets of Crown Qualification events organized as per this Corpora, have held elections every six months as per this Corpora, have a contract with Amtgard, Inc, meet every week, have a bank account with a local bank under the chapter’s name (regularly, over a 6 month period, containing at least $100), organize chapter government as per this Corpora.
The Monarch of a Duchy is called a Duke or its equivalent.
A Duke may award first through eighth levels of any order.
The Monarch of a Duchy may award the titles of Lord, Baronet, and Baron
A Duke may award paragon.
A Duke may not award masterhoods or knighthood.
The Regent of a Duchy may award first through eighth levels of Orders of the Rose, Lion, Owl, Dragon, and Garber.
Section 1. ELECTIONS
Elections shall be conducted by the Prime Minister, except when the Prime Minister is involved as a candidate, in the case of the Prime Minister or Board elections, in which case elections shall be conducted by the Guildmaster of Reeves, and in the case of the Circle of Knights, which shall conduct its own elections.
Candidates in any election for a Kingdom office, the Board of Directors, and sponsored chapter equivalents must declare their intent to run publicly and to the managing election officer at least two weeks prior to the election.
A person may only declare for one of the offices of the Monarchy per chapter or kingdom level.
The winner of any election requires a simple plurality vote.
A 'no confidence option' must be available in all elections.
To pass a vote of confidence, a candidate must receive more affirmative votes than a 'no confidence' option and any other candidates.
If a candidate loses a vote of confidence, the office shall be filled by a pro-tem officer as per these bylaws.
If nobody is qualified to run for office, an Althing shall be held to appoint pro-tem officers.
Only dues-paid members may vote in an election.
A member’s dues must be paid at least one week prior to the election.
A member must have signed in on at least twelve full-credit attendance credits during the previous six months in order to vote.
Proxy votes may be used provided that the member meets the normal voting criteria, the vote is in a sealed and signed envelope with the voter’s name on the outside, and the vote is submitted prior to the closing of the polls.
A proxy vote may be delivered by a third party, provided that the third party is not running for an office that is on the current ballot.
If more than one vote is submitted from the same person, then all votes from that person are null and void.
Proxy votes may be emailed to the Prime Minister no later than twenty-four hours before the closing of the polls.
Write-in candidates are not permitted.
All candidates for office may appoint a representative to witness the counting of the votes.
The Monarch shall have the power to break ties as detailed under the powers of the Monarch.
Section 2. IMPEACHMENT
Officers of the kingdom may be removed from office (impeached) for criminal actions, violations of Code of Conduct, or dereliction of duty.
An officer of the monarchy may be impeached by presenting a petition signed by at least 20% of the dues-paid members of the Kingdom or sponsored chapter to the Althing and then a two-thirds vote of the Althing to finalize impeachment.
An impeachment may be overruled by joint agreement of the highest elected officers of the monarchy not involved in the impeachment.
Section 3. THE ALTHING
The Althing is a public meeting open to all members of the Kingdom to discuss and enact rules changes with a two-thirds vote, revise and update the Corpora with a two-thirds vote, discuss and vote upon major expenditures of the kingdom treasury, discuss and vote on the future of the Kingdom, vote on approving the adoption and promotion of sponsored chapters, vote on restoring the membership status of a suspended member and discuss and vote on Kingdom policy.
An Althing shall be scheduled and held (called) at least once a month, but may be canceled by the Monarch if there is a lack of interest.
The Althing may not be canceled if a petition for impeachment is being presented.
The Althing may not be canceled if the Monarch and Prime Minister have exercised their power to temporarily amend the Rules of Play or the Corpora, and must be held either to ratify their decision in accordance with amendment or rules changes procedures, or to let their decision expire.
The Monarch shall preside over and call all Althings.
If the Monarch cannot attend, the Regent may preside over an Althing with the permission of the Monarch.
If a petition to impeach the Monarch is being presented, another member of the Monarchy shall preside over the Althing according to the Order of Precedence.
Anyone may attend, but only dues-paid members may vote.
Althing rules of order may be set down by the Monarch and shall be enforced by the Champion.
Unless stated otherwise in these bylaws, an Althing vote passes if it musters 50% plus one of those voting.
Article 3, Section 2, Subsection 6 states that Monarch has the ability to break ties on Althing once a tie is met, not related to Monarch impeachment.
Section 4. CHANGING THE CORPORA AND RULES OF PLAY
Amending the Corpora requires a two-thirds vote of the Althing.
Changes to the Corpora shall be made publicly available, included in the Corpora as Amendments, and made available to all members.
Change is defined as a suggested amendment to the Corpora or a suggested change to the Rules of Play, the Althing is defined as the Althing at which the change will be voted on, and submitted is defined as presented to the populace in its entirety publicly and online.
The content of a change is controlled by the person submitting the change.
A change must be submitted at least one month prior to the Althing.
A change may not be altered or revised less than one week before the Althing.
A change that has been altered or revised must be submitted again at least one week prior to the Althing.
A change that fails to pass an Althing vote is considered killed, and the process of approving a change must be started over.
A change may be tabled by the Monarch rather than killed.
A change that has been tabled may be modified and submitted at least two weeks prior to the Althing.
Only the Kingdom Althing can change, add to, or delete from the Corpora.
Section 5. DUES AND POLICIES OF THE TREASURY
The Kingdom treasury shall consist of all funds owned by Amtgard, Kingdom of Dragonspine, Inc.
Sponsored chapter funds are controlled and owned by that sponsored chapter as per these bylaws.
Membership dues are $10, paid every six months
75% of dues paid will be retained by the local chapter, 25% will be submitted to the Kingdom along with the Land Audit.
Dues paid to Kingdom will be considered towards criteria for a passing or failing the required Land Audit.
Receipts given for paying dues shall display the time period covered by the dues.
Receipts shall be given for all income and expenditures.
The Monarch and the Prime Minister may each spend up to 10% of the treasury each month in order to run the kingdom.
Receipts must be provided for all expenditures of the treasury.
Larger expenditures require the approval of the Althing.
Section 1. GENERAL INFORMATION
A position is an office not listed in the Order of Precedence.
Except where noted, the positions listed here have no age requirement.
A person may hold multiple positions.
All persons holding positions must be members of the kingdom.
Section 2. HEIR APPARENT
Heir Apparent (Prince, Princess) exists to provide a position for members under the age of 18 to run for during the Crown Qualification process.
The Heir Apparent must be under 18 years of age at the beginning of their term in office.
The Heir Apparent should (i) assist the Regent in planning feasts, (ii) assist the Champion in conducting at least one monthly equipment check, (iii) serve as a reeve in at least two battlegames and (iv) assist the Prime Minister and Scribe in producing and distributing newsletters.
The Heir Apparent may bestow orders with the permission of the Monarch.
The Heir Apparent may be removed by joint agreement of the Monarch and Regent.
The position of Heir Apparent may be left vacant.
Section 3. REEVES GUILD
Any member who has passed the reeves’ test during or since the previous Month of the Crown with a score of 75% or higher is part of the Reeves Guild.
The previous Guildmaster of Reeves is exempt from the test requirement.
Reeves oversee and help run (reeve, reeving) battlegames and tournaments that they are not taking part in.
While reeving, Reeves may (i) adjust teams to balance battlegames, (ii) call whether a hit on a person is valid or not, (iii) take unsafe people or equipment off the battlefield, (iv) take time off a person’s death if they died well, (v) remove a person who persistently causes problems, and (vi) declare the end of a game if play is stagnating.
While reeving, a Reeve is responsible for (i) ensuring that the games are safe for participants and bystanders, (ii) helping participants understand the game, (iii) ensuring that the quality of play is honest and in keeping with the spirit of the rules, and (iv) making sure that play remains within a reasonable area, and (v) retrieving discarded equipment fairly.
Section 4. CAPTAIN OF THE ROYAL GUARD
The Captain of the Royal Guard (Captain of the Guard) is in charge of security at all kingdom events.
Violations of federal, state, county, city, or municipal law (mundane law) should be handled by contacting the proper authorities.
In conjunction with the Champion, the Captain of the Guard shall ensure that the Monarch is properly defended.
The Captain of the Guard shall share duties with the Champion in carrying out the policies of the Crown.
The Captain of the Guard is appointed and dismissed at the option of the Monarch.
The Captain of the Guard must be at least 18 years old.
Section 5. ROYAL GUARD
The Royal Guard (the Guard) shall defend the Crown and assist the Captain of the Guard.
The Monarch may appoint and dismiss the guard at will.
There may be no more than ten members of the guard.
Section 6. REGENT’S DEFENDER
The Regent’s Defender (Defender) shall defend and serve the Regent.
The Regent may appoint and dismiss the Regent’s Defender at will.
Section 7. CIRCLE OF KNIGHTS
The Circle of Knights shall consist of all knights who are members of Dragonspine or its sponsored chapters.
The Circle of Knights shall elect a Guildmaster during the crown elections.
The Guildmaster of Knights (GMK) is responsible for hosting meetings of the Circle of Knights.
The Monarch may be invited to these meetings if the Monarch is not a knight.
The Guildmaster of Knights shall conduct votes of the knights of the kingdom to determine whether candidates for knighthood have the support of the Circle of Knights.
The Circle of Knights shall set its own standards to determine who among them may vote.
Should a member of the Circle of Knights be suspended indefinitely, the Circle will vote with simple majority to recommend the Monarch strip the member of all their honors, titles, and awards.
If the suspension ends or is overturned, the player may ask for their status to be reinstated by vote with simple majortiy from the Circle of Knights and Approval of the Monarch.
Section 8. GUILDMASTER OF SMITHS
The Guildmaster of Smiths is responsible for running demonstrations (demos) of Amtgard and Dragonspine at community events such as schools, movies and Renaissance Faires.
The Monarch should appoint an autocrat for larger functions.
The Guildmaster of Smiths should inform the Monarch when someone should be considered for an Order of the Smith for sponsoring a minor Amtgard event, sponsoring a demo, or for other comparable service to the kingdom.
The Monarch may appoint and dismiss the Guildmaster of Smiths at will.
Section 9. GUILDMASTER OF GARBERS
The Guildmaster of Garbers is responsible for taking charge of special garbing projects set forth by the Crown.
The Guildmaster of Garbers shall help members of the kingdom learn to make their own garb.
The Guildmaster of Garbers should inform the Crown when someone should be considered for an Order of the Garber for making especially nice garb.
The Regent may appoint and dismiss the Guildmaster of Garbers at will.
Section 10. GUILDMASTER OF ENGINEERS
The Guildmaster of Engineers is responsible for taking charge of special engineering projects set forth by the Crown.
The Guildmaster of Engineers shall work in conjunction with the Champion to help members of the kingdom learn how to make safe weapons.
The Guildmaster of Engineers should inform the Crown when someone should be considered for an Order of the Owl for making especially nice equipment.
The Regent may appoint and dismiss the Guildmaster of Engineers at will.
Section 11. CLASS GUILDMASTERS
The guilds of squires, pages, and artisans and all fighting classes have a Guildmaster.
Guildmasters are responsible for (i) keeping the members of the guild following the proper rules of their class; (ii) monitoring their class and present ideas for improvement and solutions to problems to the Monarch, Guildmaster of Reeves, and the Althing; (iii) helping new people to learn to play the rules of their class; (iv) encouraging garb and equipment applicable to their class; (iv) making recommendations to the Monarch for candidates for masterhood of their class; and (v) maintaining a supply of equipment for their class for new members of the kingdom to use.
The Guildmaster of Warriors is responsible for running fighter practice.
Guildmaster are chosen during crown elections by all members of a guild who are dues-paid and have earned at least one credit in the guild’s class in the past six months or are a master in the guild.
Only guild members who can vote in their guild may become the Guildmaster.
A Guildmaster may be removed by a two-thirds vote of their guild or by joint agreement of the Monarch and Prime Minister.
Section 12. SCRIBE
The Scribe shall keep minutes of all Althings and ensure the production of a newsletter at least once every two months.
For each newsletter, the Scribe shall request (i) letters to the populace from all members of the Monarchy, (ii) a kingdom budget report from the Prime Minister, (iii) letters from other kingdom officials who wish to write them, and (iv) literature and contributions from the populace.
The Scribe shall work with the Monarchy to maintain a yearly calendar of events.
The Monarch may appoint and dismiss the Scribe at will.
Section 13. CIRCLE OF STEEL
The Circle of Steel shall consist of representatives of all fighting companies (as defined in the Amtgard Rules of Play) with three or more members in the kingdom.
The Circle of Steel shall organize and orchestrate all company-related activities within the kingdom.
The Circle of Steel may elect a guildmaster during crown elections to represent their circle.
Section 14. COURT HERALD
The Court Herald (Herald) is responsible for all announcements of the Crown.
The Herald shall announce all persons coming before the Crown when court is being held.
The Herald shall maintain records of all heraldry belonging to kingdom members, companies, and households and work with the Monarchy to protect the heraldic rights of all members.
The Monarch may appoint and dismiss the Herald at will.
Section 15. OTHER ARTS AND SCIENCES GUILDMASTERS
The Regent may appoint other Arts and Sciences guildmasters.
Other guilds that may have guildmasters include, but are not limited to, Arts, Literature, Minstrels, Theatre, Gladiators and Sages.
Guildmasters are responsible for encouraging the interest, growth, and application of their particular discipline in the kingdom.
Section 1. GENERAL INFORMATION
All candidates for the offices of Monarch, Regent, and Champion must meet a minimum number of entries with a "Pass" score in a specific number of categories in a cultural contest known as Crown Qualifications (Crown Quals, Quals)
Crown Qualifications apply to both Kingdom and park level.
Crown Qualifications will be held once every six months, one week prior to crown elections.
The sponsor (autocrat) of Crown Qualifications shall be the highest-ranking uninvolved officer according to the Order of Precedence.
The autocrat may adjudicate disputes and handle problems that arise to ensure the smooth running of Crown Qualifications.
The autocrat running Crown Qualifications shall distribute the specific requirements and information about Crown Qualifications at the Kingdom or park midreign event.
Section 2. MONTH OF THE CROWN
The Month of the Crown is the period from when declarations of intent are due to when a new Monarch is crowned.
Any person wishing to run for Monarch, Regent, Champion, or Heir Apparent must declare their intentions publicly and in writing to the Prime Minister one week prior to Crown Qualifications.
A person may only declare for one of the offices of the Monarchy.
The Cultural and Fighting events of Crown Qualifications shall be held the week after declarations are due.
Cultural events that are difficult to hold at the regular meeting may be held at the meeting of the College of Arts and Sciences immediately preceding the week of Crown Qualifications.
The autocrat of Crown Qualifications may request that literature entries be turned in a week early.
Elections shall be held the week after Crown Qualifications.
No dues may be collected the week of elections.
A non-binding tournament consisting of all members who qualify to run for Champion shall be held during the elections.
This tournament is held for historical tradition only, the results are non-binding.
The tournament shall consist of three bouts, being short sword, short sword and shield, and double short sword.
Should only one person qualify to run for Champion, that person shall fight every former Champion of any Amtgard chapter present during elections.
The tournament can be waived at the discretion of the Autocrat or those who qualify for Champion.
The Crown Coronation event shall be run by the Regent three weeks after elections.
Section 3. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
All qualifications for office must be earned in the Crown Qualifications immediately preceding elections for that office.
Candidates for Monarch and Regent must pass the reeves test with a 75% or better, pass the Corpora test with a score of 70% or better, and receive a passing score on five (5) items.
Candidates running for Kingdom Monarch and Kingdom Regent are required to have at least 2 Orders of the Crown.
One of the 5 entries being entered must be a written or digital Reign Plan (What the candidate wishes to accomplish if they are given the position). This only applies to Kingdom level Crown Quals.
A candidate can substitute (1) of the five (5) entries, (excluding the Reign Plan) for fully participating in or reeving all fighting events of Crown Quals.
Candidates for Champion must pass the reeves test with a score of 75% or better, pass the Corpora test with a score of 70% or better, receive a passing score on three (3) items.
Candidates running for Kingdom Champion are required to enter a legal weapon into Crown Quals.
A candidate can substitute one (1) of the three (3) entries (excluding the legal weapon) for fully participating in or reeving all fighting events of Crown Quals.
Candidates for Heir Apparent must meet guidelines laid down by the autocrat of Crown Qualifications.
These guidelines typically include requiring candidates for Heir Apparent to pass the reeves test with a score of 75% or better, pass the Corpora test with a score of 70% or better, receive a qualifying score in at least five different cultural events, and fight in at least five fighting events.
Candidates for a class guildmaster position must pass the reeves test with a 75% or better.
Should no candidates qualify to run for an office, that office may be filled on a pro-tem basis as per these bylaws.
For the offices of Duchy Monarch and Duchy Regent, they must enter and receive a "Pass" score on three (3) items.
Duchy level Champion candidates must enter a legal weapon that must receive a "Pass" score.
Section 4. CULTURAL EVENTS
Dragonmaster is an Arts and Sciences contest held on or before the day of the Kingdom Midreign event.
Dragonmaster may be held in conjunction with Kingdom Weaponmaster, and the practice of running the two events on the same day is encouraged but not necessary.
Dragonmaster shall be run by the Regent or a designee.
Dragonmaster shall be run in the manner of a crown qualifications contest or a Best of the Best contest. A Crown qualifications contest shall be run as per this corpora.
A Best of the Best contest shall be run using double elimination brackets and a panel of judges to determine the results of each contest. Best of the Best contests typically include dialogue between the judges and the contestants.
A different contest style may be used with the approval of the Althing.
The contest style shall be announced publicly online at least three weeks before Dragonmaster.
All entries must be signed in within the time constraints set forth by the autocrat.
The overall winner shall receive the title of Dragonmaster for the reign.
The Cultural Events are held as part of the Crown Qualifications process and shall consist of the following seven categories, each of which is broken up into individual sub-categories.
Garbing, which shall be divided into the individual sub-categories of Field Garb, made for wear to regular park meetings; Court Garb, made for wear during court or formal functions; Monster Garb, made for the portrayal of a monster class; and Garb Accessory, such as belts, pouches, and favors.
Art, which shall be divided into the individual sub-categories of Flat Art, which is any two-dimensional artistic medium; 3-D Art, which is any three-dimensional artistic medium; Kit, which is anything made from a kit, such as miniatures or ceramics; Needlework, which is any embroidery, crochet, beadwork, and other such fiber arts; Jewelry, which is any item made to be worn as jewelry; Photography, which is any photograph of people, places or events related to the genre of Amtgard; and Media, which is any movie, webpage, or digitally-enhanced art, or digital tools and software.
Literature, which shall be divided into the individual sub-categories of Fiction, which shall be any fictional work; Non-Fiction, which shall be any factual work; and Poetry, which shall be any poetic work in any poetic style.
Cooking, which shall be divided into the individual sub-categories of Main Dish, which is any food served as a main course; Side Dish, which is any food served to accompany a meal; Vintners, which is any beverage that has been fermented by a brewing or distillation process; Dessert, which is any food served primarily as a dessert; Condiment, which is any sauce, dressing, chutney, etc.; and Mixology, which is any beverage that has at least one homemade ingredient, but does not include any brewing or distillation.
Construction, which shall be divided into the individual sub-categories of Weapon, any weapon that is legal for Amtgard use; Unique Weapon, any unique or unusual weapon made in the manner of Amtgard weapons, but does not have to be legal for Amtgard use; Shield, which is any shield, buckler, or madu that is legal for Amtgard use; Armor, made for use on the battlefield; Banner, which is any banner; Active Construction, which is any equipment not already covered by another event that is made for battlefield use, such as siege weaponry; and Passive Construction, which is any item not covered by another event that is not made for battlefield use, such as chests, furniture, or pavilions.
Bardic, which shall be divided into the individual sub-categories of Singing, with or without accompaniment; Instrumental Music, which is any musical performance on a musical instrument; Dance, which is any dancing; and Recitation, of any story, poetry, comedy, drama, etc.
Rose, which is any additional entry made and donated to the Kingdom or park.
A strategic gaming category may also be held, including but not limited to games such as chess, pente, and so on.
A qualification earned from strategic gaming does not count towards becoming Arts and Sciences champion of that tournament.
All entries (or items) except cooking must be related in some way to Amtgard or the related genres.
All cooking entries should be made primarily from scratch and should include enough so that all judges can get an adequate taste of the entry.
Individual entries must be at least 85% the work of the person entering them.
Joint entries will be allowed provided that each entrant shared significantly in the work of producing the entry in question.
No item may be entered in more than one sub-category.
Items entered in an inappropriate sub-category may be moved to another sub-category by the autocrat of the event with the permission of the entrant.
Should a vintners category take place, it shall be judged at a different time and location than the other cultural events unless the location used permits alcohol.
All judges for the vintners event must be at least 21 years of age.
An Arts and Sciences Champion shall be determined by taking the seven best events for each contestant and averaging the scores.
A contestant must enter at least seven different Cultural Events to be qualified to become the Arts and Sciences Champion.
The Monarch and Regent should consider granting any awards or Orders for outstanding entries in the Cultural Events. Entries that exceed the available Orders of the local park (e.g. Shire may award up to 2nd Orders) should be referred to the Kingdom Monarchy for award.
In order to award entrants from other parks, recommendations must be approved by the Kingdom Monarch.
Section 5. JUDGING
Each entry in a Cultural Event will be judged by a panel of judges, at a minimum of 3, appointed by the autocrat of the event.
All judges are expected to be unbiased and impartial.
All entries/items being judged for the cultural events at Crown Quals will be scored using a "Pass"/"Fail" system.
An entry cannot Fail if it functions as the artist claims it should in their write up.
Should an item Fail, the judge will be required to give their explanation of why the entry failed.
The "Pass/Fail" scoring system shall be used only for Hydras and for players running for a Kindgom/Duchy office.
The Numberical Scoring system shall be used to determine awards and for the title of A&S Champion.
For Arts and Science Champion, Dragonmaster, and other competitive A&S formats, items will be scored on a numerical rating from 1.0 to 5.0.
Entries will be scored in increments of 0.1 on a scale of 10. to 5.0 by each judge, and shell be judged on their own merits and not in comparison to the other entries.
The total score for each entry shall be determined by averaging the scores given by the judges.
If there are 5 or more judges, the average is determined after dropping the highest and lowest score.
If more than 7 items are entered only the top 7 will be used for the total score.
Section 6. FIGHTING EVENTS
Warmaster is a tournament held as part of the Kingdom Crown Qualifications process.
Weaponmaster is a tournament held as part of mid reign.
Warmaster shall be run as a bracketed tournament or a warlord tournament.
A bracketed tournament shall use single elimination brackets, with each round decided by best two out of three, and shall be seeded a minimum of four fighters out.
A warlord tournament shall be run as a standard Amtgard Warlord Tournament.
A different tournament style may be used with the approval of the Althing.
Weaponmaster and Warmaster shall be considered "mixed-gender" tournaments, wherein participation is open to all members.
The Artemis tournament shall be held in conjunction with weaponmaster and Warmaster.
This tournament is open to any participants that are assigned female at birth (AFAB) or that have a female gender identity.
This tournament shall be held at such a time so that competitors may also enter the open tournament.
Officers may consider these tournaments when granting all levels of Order of the Warrior and warlord.
The tournament shall consist of the following fighting events: single short weapon, double short weapon, short weapon and shield, single great weapon, and open weapon, with a limitation that no unwielded equipment may be carried.
Additional fighting events may be included with the approval of the Althing. Examples include two-person team, archery, combat archery, dagger, and true florentine.
The tournament style and fighting events shall be announced publicly at least three weeks before the tournament.
The tournament shall be held on the same day as the Kingdom Crown Qualifications Cultural Events.
All fighters must be signed in within the time constraints set forth by the Autocrat of Crown Qualifications.
The overall winner shall receive the title of Warmaster or Weaponmaster for the upcoming reign.
The winner will be determined by giving five points for first place in an event, three points for second and one point for third.
In the event of a tie in points standings, the entrant with the most first place finishes is the winner.
If there is still a tie, a tie-breaking event between all tied competitors shall be held immediately.
Section 1. GENERAL INFORMATION
All standardized Orders and awards should be given in accordance with the Rules of Play.
Awards include any order, masterhood, title or knighthood.
Awards granted to a person are considered to be held by all of their personas.
No award is earned automatically and all awards are given at the discretion of those with the power to give them.
The person granting and receiving an award cannot be the same person.
Section 2. ORDERS
Orders are given by the Monarch and Regent for contributing in various ways to the kingdom, may be earned multiple times by multiple people, and should be increasingly difficult to earn as a member rises in each order.
The Monarch and Regent may both grant Orders of the Dragon, Garber, Lion, Owl, and Rose.
Orders of the Dragon are awarded for demonstrating ability in the arts of Amtgard.
Orders of the Garber are awarded for the creation of garb.
Orders of the Lion are awarded for going above and beyond the call of duty in the execution of an office, or for leadership outside of office while performing a service to Amtgard.
Orders of the Owl are awarded for demonstrating ability in the construction sciences of Amtgard.
Orders of the Rose are awarded for service to the club not necessarily related to an elected office..
The Monarch may grant Orders of Battle, Flame, Griffon, Hydra, Jovius, Mask, Zodiac, Smith, and Crown.
Orders of Battle are for understanding of tactics in class battlegaming and/or effectiveness as a player in class battlegaming.
If Orders of Battle are given for paragons, eligible classes include the core 10 classes, Anti-paladin, Paladin, and Monster.
Orders of the Flame are for outstanding service by a group.
Only one Order of the Flame may be given per reign.
Orders of the Griffon are for courage, chivalry, and honor on the field or in tournaments.
Orders of the Hydra are for qualifying in the cultural events during Crown Qualifications.
Orders of the Hydra are typically given automatically.
Orders of the Jovious are for having an outstanding positive attitude.
Only one Order of the Jovious may be given per reign.
Orders of the Mask are for outstanding portrayal of persona.
Only one Order of the Mask may be given per reign.
Orders of the Zodiac are for outstanding contributions to the kingdom in a single month.
Only one Order of the Zodiac may be given per month.
Orders of the Smith are awarded for organizing and running battlegames, quests, workshops, demonstrations, and the like while not in office, or for running such events above and beyond the requirements of one’s office.
Orders of the Crown are for serving with excellence in office from the local level to the Kingdom level.
The Monarch may grant Orders of the Warrior for fighting prowess.
Orders of the Warrior may be given for battlefield prowess.
Orders of the Warrior above fifth level are typically only awarded for tournaments.
A 1st-level Order of the Warrior is represented by a Snake on a green favor.
A 2nd-level Order of the Warrior is represented by a Boar on a blue favor.
A 3rd-level Order of the Warrior is represented by a Mongoose on a red favor.
A 4th-level Order of the Warrior is represented by a Bear on a brown favor.
A 5th-level Order of the Warrior is represented by a Hawk on a rust-colored favor.
A 6th-level Order of the Warrior is represented by a Wolf on a gray favor.
A 7th-level Order of the Warrior is represented by a Tiger on an orange favor.
A 8th-level Order of the Warrior is represented by a Panther on a black favor.
A 9th-level Order of the Warrior is represented by a Dragon on a purple favor.
A 10th-level Order of the Warrior (Warlord) is represented by a gold Phoenix on a red favor with a yellow border.
Section 3. MASTERHOOD
Masterhood is bestowed at the discretion of the Monarch for excellence in the fighting or service aspects of Amtgard.
Masterhood may be given for excellent service to the kingdom.
Masterhood may be given in the Orders of the Battle, Crown, Dragon, Flame, Garber, Griffon, Hydra, Lion, Owl, Rose, Smith, and for reeving.
The criterion for a service masterhood is ten orders in the masterhood being granted.
The criteria for Master Reeve is at least twelve weeks experience as a reeve and excellence as a reeve.
The Monarch may create other service masterhoods, such as Jovious, Zodiac, Mask.
Paragon (class masterhood) may be given to outstanding members of the fighting guilds.
The Monarch should consult the guildmaster of a class before granting a paragon.
The basis for awarding someone a paragon should be exemplifying the class, thorough knowledge of the class rules and concept, good roleplay, and possession of quality garb and equipment for the class.
Section 4. KNIGHTHOOD
The Monarch may knight people into any of the five orders of knighthood for the greatest contributions to the game of Amtgard.
Candidates for knighthood should have achieved the criteria listed for that knighthood and should have the approval of the Circle of Knights.
Achievement of the listed criteria does not automatically confer knighthood.
Leadership and the knightly virtues are prerequisites to earning knighthood.
The five orders of knighthood are Battle, Crown, Flame, Serpent and Sword.
Knight of Battle is awarded for battlegame excellence
A knight of Battle may wear a white belt trimmed with blue.
Knight of the Crown is awarded for excellence in elected office.
A Knight of the Crown may wear a white belt trimmed with gold.
Knight of the Flame is awarded for excellence in service.
A Knight of the Flame may wear a white belt trimmed with red.
Knight of the Serpent is awarded for excellence in the arts and sciences.
A Knight of the Serpent may wear a white belt trimmed with green.
Knight of the Sword is awarded for martial excellence.
A Knight of the Sword may wear a white belt trimmed with silver.
With regards to knighthood and the awards and positions that lead to eligibility for knighthood, the section on Awards Standards in the Amtgard Rules of Play shall take precedence over the Corpora.
White or near-white belts and baldrics, spurs, and unadorned chains are reserved for knights.
White belts, near-white belts, and belts that are more than half white are reserved for knights.
Non-knights may wear chains with emotional, spiritual, or familial significance.
The Monarch, Champion, and the Guildmaster of Knights shall enforce rules concerning garb reserved for knighthood.
Knights may choose to take squires.
Red belts, near-red belts, and belts that are more than half red are reserved for squires.
A person must be a member of Amtgard for twelve weeks before they may become a squire.
Knights and squires may choose to take pages or men-at-arms
The garb of a page is a yellow belt.
The garb of a man-at-arms is a black belt trimmed with silver.
A plain black belt is also commonly used in Dragonspine to signify a man-at-arms.
A person must be a member of Amtgard for twelve weeks before they may become a page or man-at-arms.
A knighthood may be removed by a two-thirds vote of the Circle of Knights, a two-thirds vote of the Althing, and the approval of the Monarch.
Section 5. TITLES OF NOBILITY
The Monarch may bestow any title of nobility for serving with distinction in the offices of the kingdom or for exemplary service to the kingdom.
Unless otherwise stated, the offices served in must be at the kingdom level to qualify for the titles listed below.
Although all titles are granted at the discretion of the Monarch, the following criteria is suggested for members who serve with distinction.
Grand Duchess (Grand Duke) may be granted for serving two complete terms as Monarch and is addressed as Your Grace.
Archduchess (Archduke) may be granted for serving one complete term as Monarch and one complete term as Regent and is addressed as Your Grace.
Duchess (Duke) may be granted for serving one complete term as Monarch and is addressed as Your Grace.
Countess (Count) may be granted for serving one complete term as Regent or one complete term as Monarch of a Principality and is addressed as Your Excellency.
Marquise (Marquis) may be granted for serving twice as, or two of the three positions of, Guildmaster of Reeves, Champion, or Prime Minister and is addressed as Your Excellency.
Viscountess (Viscount) may be granted for earning the titles of Defender and Weaponmaster and is addressed as Your Excellency.
Baroness (Baron) may be granted for serving one complete term as Prime Minister, one complete term as Monarch of a Duchy, or one complete term as Regent of a Principality and is addressed as Your Excellency.
Defender (Defender) may be granted for serving one complete term as Champion or one complete term as Champion of a Principality and is addressed as Defender.
Walker of the Middle (Walker of the Middle) may be granted for exemplification of the ideals and conduct of a Reeve and has no special mode of address.
Baronetess (Baronet) may be granted for serving as a pro-tem officer of the Monarchy and is address as Your Lordship or Your Ladyship.
Lady (Lord) may be granted for serving one complete term as Monarch of a Barony, or one complete term as Regent of a Duchy, or at the discretion of the Monarch for excellent and continued service to Amtgard, and is addressed as Your Lordship or Your Ladyship.
Dragonrider will be granted by the Kingdom Monarch to anyone who has visited all active parks in the kingdom. The first generation of Dragonriders who completed this quest under time restrictions will be the only Dragonriders to be called Rangers. Additional verbiage (Lancer, Scout, etc) may be added at the discretion of the monarch to denote special service in the spirit of this title.
Nobles may choose to take pages or men-at-arms in the same manner as knights or squires.
A title of nobility may be removed by a two-thirds vote of all kingdom nobles, a two-thirds vote of the Althing, and the approval of the Monarch.
Section 6. ORDER OF PRESTIGE`
The Order of Prestige exists for purposes of roleplay to determine the rank of each person in the kingdom.
Rank in the Order of Prestige grants no special powers or duties to the holder of a title or position.

Section 1. GENERAL INFORMATION
The Board of Directors (DSBOD, the Board, Board, BOD) shall deal with any government or outside agencies, businesses, or organizations, or any of the local chapter’s subsidiary chapters with regard to contractual obligations and be consulted prior to the change of status in any sponsored chapter of the kingdom.
The Board of Directors shall be composed of the five elected members. In addition:
The Kingdom Monarch and the Kingdom Prime Minister have an automatic seat on the board.
An alternate board member will have a voting seat if one of the five elected are absent.
An election shall be held by the Guildmaster of Reeves every January to choose the elected members of the Board.
Only dues-paid members may run for the Board of Directors.
Candidates must announce their candidacy publicly and in writing to the Guildmaster of Reeves at least two weeks prior to the election.
Candidates for the Board of Directors must be at least eighteen years old.
Board elections shall be conducted by subjecting every candidate to a yes or no vote, with the six candidates who earn the most votes, and get more yes votes than no votes, being the winners.
The newest elected member of the Board of Directors who earned the least votes shall be the Alternate and shall only vote in Board meetings when another Board member is absent.
A person who holds a second seat on the Board of Directors through holding the Prime Minister or Monarch seat is not required to give up their elected Board of Directors position, but is only able to wield one vote.
The Board shall meet once a month as needed and all meetings shall be open to the public.
Board meetings may be canceled by joint agreement of the President and Vice President.
Should the membership of the Board fall below five, the Board may appoint eligible people to fill the vacant seats until the next Board elections.
The Board must have quorum to conduct any Board business.
Any member of the Board who misses three meetings in a row shall be removed.
Special situations may be given consideration by the Board.
Section 2. OFFICERS OF THE BOARD
The Board of Directors shall elect from their number a President who shall conduct all meetings of the Board.
The Monarch may not be the President.
The Board of Directors shall elect from their number a Vice President who shall serve as President if the President is absent and become President if the position becomes empty.
The Board of Directors shall elect from their number a Treasurer who shall be responsible for all funds allocated to the DSBOD, work closely with the Prime Minister in monitoring kingdom funds, perform unsolicited audits of the kingdom financial records, audit all records at the end of each Prime Minister’s term of office before they are turned over to the next Prime Minister, if necessary, seize all kingdom records and finances with the approval of the President, the disposition of which must be handled at the next Board meeting, and conduct an informal audit of all kingdom records on a monthly basis.
The Treasurer may not be the Kingdom Prime Minister
The Board of Directors shall elect from their number a Liaison Officer who shall be responsible for contact with all outside agencies, maintain a mailing and phone list of all agencies the kingdom deals with, and maintain copies of all contracts between the Board and any outside agency or subsidiary chapter.
The Board of Directors shall elect from their number a Secretary who shall record all minutes of all Board meetings and publish them within four weeks.
Section 3. LIMITATIONS OF THE BOARD
The Board has no status in the order of precedence and has no jurisdiction over any internal club or local chapter functions except as noted above.
The Board has no power to change, amend, alter, or otherwise affect the rulebook, Corpora, or any supplements to either publication.
Section 1. GENERAL INFORMATION
Members are required to obey all federal, state, city, county, and municipal laws.
Violations of the law that occur at kingdom functions that endanger members of the kingdom or the public should be reported to the proper authorities.
Section 2. VIOLATIONS
In the event that an individual should be caught and/or proven guilty of assault with a deadly weapon (gun, sword, knife, etc.), possession or trafficking of narcotics, serving alcohol to a minor, or any other felony offense on the premises of any Amtgard function, that individual may be punished by the kingdom.
Punishment may include being expelled from the site of the event, an immediate call to the mundane law enforcement officials, being stripped of all titles and knighthoods as per this Corpora, termination of membership permanently or for one year, as per this Corpora, being banned from Amtgard battlegames, tournaments and events permanently or for one year, at the discretion of the Monarch, Prime Minister, and the Guildmaster of Reeves.
In the event that an individual should be caught and/or proven guilty of assault with a non-deadly weapon (fist, stick, flagrant abuse with an Amtgard weapon), petty theft, willful destruction of property, or any other misdemeanor offense on the premises of any Amtgard function, that individual may be punished by the kingdom.
Punishment may include being expelled from the site of the event, an immediate call to the mundane law enforcement officials, being stripped of any titles and knighthoods as per this Corpora, termination of membership for three to six months, as per this Corpora, being banned from Amtgard battlegames, tournaments and for two to six months, at the discretion of the Monarch, Prime Minister, and the Guildmaster of Reeves.
A person whose membership has been suspended or terminated may appeal to current or future monarchs directly.
Section 3. DISCLAIMER
Dragonspine does not condone any illegal activity or physical violence against any person.
Dragonspine is a non-sectarian, educational organization.
Dragonspine officials are not responsible for any injuries sustained while playing Amtgard.
