AMS concert Bands

Honor Band

Directed by Mrs. Wood, the Honor Band is an advanced ensemble and is the top performing band at AMS. Honor Band is reserved for those musicians that exhibit a strong work ethic, positive attitudes, and a desire to constantly improve. Honor Band students compete in the All-Region auditions, UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest, Solo and Ensemble Contest and any additional festivals throughout the year. A minimum of 1 year playing experience is required.

Symphonic Band

Directed by Mr. Corkill, the Symphonic Band is the second performing ensemble at AMS. Symphonic Band is reserved for musicians that exhibit strong work ethics, positive attitudes, and dedication to the program. Students perform at UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest, Solo and Ensemble Contest and any additional festivals throughout the year. A minimum of 1 year playing experience is required.

Beginning Band

The AMS Beginning Band is for any student looking to start their band career! This band is reserved for those students who have never played a band instrument, or has limited knowledge, but are eager to learn. Students perform at concerts and a contest throughout the year. We welcome all students who are interested! NO PREVIOUS MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED!!!
