Research Projects:
1. Mapping the electron temperature structure of H II regions: Understanding systematic effects using LVM data simulations
Department of Astronomy, University of Chile, Santiago, Chile. (July 2022- Present)
• Using Cloudy models to simulate HII regions in LVM data simulator for nebular line diagnostic.
• Computing gas temperatures and densities structures of nebulae using emission line diagnostics.
2. Nature of the Ionization Front in Local Analogs of High-z Galaxies: NIR diagnostics.
Department of Astronomy, University of Chile, Santiago, Chile. (April 2022-June 2022)
• NIR data is taken from FIRE spectrograph from Magellan Baade telescope.
• I reduced, corrected and calibrated the data to get the spectra for further analysis.
3. Effect of tidal interactions on the star formation properties of dwarf galaxies.
Research Intern, Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA),DST, Bangalore, India. (June 2021-Dec 2021)
• Comparing the enhancement in star formation rate of tidally disturbed galaxies with that of the
isolated single galaxies.
• The star formation rate is estimated using the GALEX UV data.
4. Study of volatile abundances and water production Rates of Short Period Comets.
Research Intern, Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), DST, Ahmadabad, India. (Jan 2021-May 2021)
• Water production Rates are calculated, plotted and analyzed at varying heliocentric distances, and
with years, using Power law t.
• Plots of solar cycle are also made to t, in agreement with Production rates.
Master's thesis:
I have done my master's thesis at Physical Research laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, India on the topic of "Volatile abundances and production rates of 2P/Encke".
