Venue: D307 to D309, Second Floor, AB-3 (Computer Science Block)

Timings: 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Instructions

It is mandatory for all the selected teams to participate in the finals.
All the teams are requested to have their breakfast early and please proceed for registration at the venue by 7:00 AM.
As soon as you have registered, you can occupy your place at the venue.
Participants are requested to have breakfast and lunch as usual in their respective mess halls however, refreshments will be provided at the venue (please carry some water).
All the teams are requested to finish building the prototype and have to ready the following things before 5:00 PM:
1. Complete Code
2. Working demo
3. Video recording of the demo
4. Presentation/pitch of the idea (7 mins for pitch and 5 mins for queries)
All the above documents should be uploaded using the link that will be provided at the venue.
The event is expected to end by 8:00 PM in the night. Make your travel plans accordingly.

Let's meet for onsite hack on September 7th, 2019.

About:

Hackathons have become more popular in the last few years, attracting young talent to showcase their new ideas and thus paving way for young entrepreneurship. They provide a good platform for young talents and stimulate the creative juices of participants and foster problem-solving and risk-taking in a casual environment.

AiSmart Hackathon is a full-fledged end to end hackathon that is on par with any of the Industry conducted hackathons. The event is open for all the students of ASE Coimbatore. Each team can have maximum of 3 participants and an optional faculty mentor. The event will contain three phases as mentioned below:

Stage-1

Idea Submission Phase (16^th Aug 2019 – 25^th Aug 2019)

The students will be asked to share their idea and its details through an online forum. This phase will be given certain deadline before which the students are expected to submit the ideas. This phase will close sharply by the deadline mentioned and the ideas submitted will be shortlisted by the organizing team.

Stage-2

Prototype Development (26^th Aug 2019 – 6^th Sept 2019)

Shortlisted teams will be intimated via mail and the teams will be given 2 weeks of time to develop their initial prototype of their idea.

Stage-3

Onsite hack (7^th Sept 2019)

Teams will arrive at the hackathon location and will be participating in a 12 Hours Hackathon (tentatively from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM). After 12 Hours, each team will pitch their idea with a presentation along with the prototype demonstration for 10 mins.

Finally top 3 teams will be awarded prizes.

Prizes:

First prize – Rs 15,000/-

Second prize – Rs 10,000/-

Third prize – Rs 5,000/-

Exciting prizes by Intel for the top 2 teams and many more goodies/consolidation prizes.

Guidelines:

It is recommended to have problems related to Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence. Also, application development for solving realtime problems using Machine Learning and AI are recommended. Sample problem streams are mentioned below after guidelines.
Each team can have maximum of 3 participants.
Team members can be from different disciplines.
Each team can have a faculty mentor which is optional. However, having a faculty mentor can help you in building the prototype and can also help you in borrowing the required hardware components from our Labs.
It is recommended to have at least one girl participant in each team.
Shortlisted teams (will be intimated via E-mail on 26th August) can utilise/borrow the components from department labs, with prior permission from the lab incharges and Department heads for building the prototypes.
The responsibility of the components and the materials required for developing the prototype during the Hackathon lies solely on the participating teams.
The entire idea need not be fully implemented however, the submission should be functional so that it can be reviewed by the judges.
Finalised teams should be present physically on the day of hack, any violations will lead to disqualification of the team.
All the finalists should ready a A3 poster explaining the problem and the proposed solution. The same have to be presented after the hack. Date for the poster presentation will be intimated via Email.
