AMR Heroes is a youth-led initiative committed to raising awareness about Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) through education, advocacy, and community engagement. We empower future healthcare professionals and the public to use antibiotics responsibly.
Antimicrobial Resistance is a growing global health threat. Misuse and overuse of antibiotics have made bacteria more resistant, making common infections harder—and sometimes impossible—to treat. Awareness and responsible use are key to fighting it.
AMR Heroes was initiated by fellows and volunteers of the Global Peacebuilders Leadership Program (GPLP). Even after the end of fellowship, it continued to grow through passionate student volunteers, healthcare advocates, and educators from Nepal and beyond.
Yes! We regularly recruit volunteers and are now seeking passionate coordinators for the Cohort 2025. You can lead campaigns, organize events, or contribute to content creation. Keep an eye on our social media for calls or reach out via the contact page.
You can volunteer, collaborate with us for events, sponsor awareness programs, or simply help spread the word about AMR. Every action counts in fighting this silent pandemic.
We conduct workshops in schools, colleges, and communities; host digital campaigns like memes and videos; and partner with organizations to reach underserved populations—including refugee communities virtually.
The initial project received support from the Global Peace Foundation and Young Bridging Leaders Challenge, but much of our work today is sustained by our dedicated team, through collaboration and resourceful planning.
Not at all! While many of our members come from public health and science backgrounds, we welcome individuals from any field who are passionate about making a difference.
