The anniversary of the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul is undoubtedly a date of mourning. We mourn for the childhoods, the friendships, the experiences, the learning, the community, the sense of safety, the connection to country and culture, the independence, and the human rights that have been stolen from Afghan women and girls. But we also wish to celebrate and share their creativity, passion, intelligence, and perseverance. 

Every single piece we have published is worthy of being celebrated and platformed. In their writing, they remind us of the power of education, the importance of community and sisterhood, the resilience of women and girls, the potential impact of the individual, and the consequences of inaction.
