A Mountain Home for All was born from a simple question.
When our founder moved to Mountain Home four years ago, she did what anyone would do: she went to the town Facebook page and asked if there were any LGBTQ+ or Gay Straight Alliance groups in town. The response was not what she hoped for.
She tried anyway. She reached out, looked for connection, and did her best to get something started. It didn't take off, but she did make one kind friend. And sometimes that's how it starts.
Two years later, a new woman moved to town and asked the same question on Facebook. She got the same response. Our founder saw it, reached out, and the two of them started texting everyone they knew, and everyone who had posted something kind. They held a meeting. The group bloomed.
They held a private event first, then a community Pride celebration. Since then, A Mountain Home for All has grown into something real. We have held community events, raised money for neighbors whose SNAP benefits were cut, built a free clothing closet, and partnered with other organizations in Mountain Home to support our neighbors. We show up at community events, spread awareness, and work every day to make sure LGBTQ+ folks in Mountain Home know they are not alone.
We are not a big organization with a big budget. We are local people who believe that everyone deserves to belong where they live, and we are building that one connection at a time.
This is your community. You are welcome here.
Mission
At A Mountain Home for All, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and celebrated. Our mission is to create a loving, inclusive community where LGBTQ+ individuals and allies can connect, express themselves freely, and grow together in authenticity and joy.
Vision
We envision a Mountain Home where LGBTQ+ individuals are not just accepted but celebrated. Where every queer and trans person feels safe, supported, and empowered to live openly and authentically.
Our hope is to help transform our town into a model of rural inclusion: a place where children can grow up without hiding who they are, where community members listen to and honor LGBTQ+ voices, and where local leaders actively work to protect and uplift queer lives.
Through visibility, advocacy, education, and connection, we aim to show what’s possible when a community chooses empathy, courage, and love.
Build Community & Visibility

Collaborate with local businesses, schools, and faith groups to foster allyship.
Establish a “Safe Space” or “Ally Business” program so residents know where they’re welcome.
Coordinate joint projects (e.g., Pride Month promotions, inclusive workplace trainings) that make Mountain Home visibly supportive of queer and trans folks.
Connect People to Resources
Act as a liaison between community members and regional/statewide LGBTQ+ organizations.
Maintain an up-to-date directory of mental-health services, legal assistance, youth programs, and emergency aid.
Offer referral support and facilitate workshops that empower residents to access the help they need.
