I attended the symposium with my daughter and just wanted to say thank you to you and to Ruth for organising it.

As a mature student, who continued on from completing a Foundation Degree to now being in the final stages of my narrative PhD and lecturing in education, it was an inspiration to be with Cathy and all of you whose lives have been touched by her. Your way of working, writing, living and growing together with such respect, integrity, warmth and affection will stay with me. You are all very special women.

I just wanted to follow the Amor Narratio event I attended last Wednesday with an expression of gratitude to you and your colleagues for organising such an interesting and inspiring event. As a student new to narrative analysis, I have become familiar with your work and that of Catherine Riessman over the last number of months, and Wednesday’s event was so beautifully put together in illustrating the power of narratives in research. Your collective passion was infectious and it was a privilege to witness. I travelled back to Ireland with my head full. I’m only sorry I could not join the later event to hear more!
