Expectations for when you are absent:
On the day you return = Turn in any work that was due while you were absent
Check Google Classroom for work that was posted when you were gone
Watch any Google Meet recordings (if applicable)
Check the absent folder for any directions, handouts, quizzes, etc. that need to be made up
Missing work due date = +1 day for every day you were absent
Appropriate greetings:
Addressing Mrs. Moenck
Use "Mrs."
Raise your hand
Professional language
Profanity will not be tolerated
Addressing Others
Use their preferred name/pronoun
Avoid nicknames, unless they are school appropriate ("Nick" is acceptable for Nicholas)
Use respectful language and discourse

Due Dates and Late Work:
Due dates are posted on the classroom white board and Google Classroom
"Late" is considered anything past the due date (1 minute or more past the 2nd bell)
Must hit "Submit" in Google Classroom for work to be considered submitted on time
If you think you will have trouble meeting a due date, see Mrs. Moenck in person.
Email Etiquette:
Complete the subject area of the email to let the person know what the email is about (keep it short!)
Use a greeting (Dear ______,)
Use details in the body of your email
Most conversations are better had in person, however -- use email to ask for an in-person meeting, explain you will be absent, etc. All other conversations should take place in the classroom when possible.
Be polite and respectful
Use professional language -- teachers and students are not friends
Check your spelling and grammar -- there shouldn't be any errors!
Use a closing (Sincerely,)
End with your name
Avoid plagiarism:
Use your own words (paraphrase or summarize)
Give credit where credit is due
Use MLA or APA in-text citations + Works Cited/References

ELA Content/Curriculum:
Free reading will take place in all classes
Check out books from the library (Destiny SSO) or from the classroom library (procedures)
Daily prompts will be used for grammar/punctuation -- MS classes
Students will write daily
Themed units will be centered around text sets -- HS classes/8th grade ELA
6-day guided reading rotation will be used -- 6th grade ELA
DOL will be used -- 6th grade ELA
Spelling/vocabulary will be practiced weekly -- MS classes
