Privacy Policy for Status Saver

Status Saver (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, collects, and uses.

1. Who we are

Status Saver is an independent Android app developed by Ammar Ishfaq.

This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp, Meta, or any of their related companies.

2. Status media and local file access

The App may access folders or files that you explicitly allow through Android’s file/folder access system. This access is used to display, save, and share status media on your device.

Your WhatsApp status photos and videos are processed locally on your device. We do not upload your status photos or videos to our servers or to Firebase.

The App may use storage/media access only for app features such as:

• reading status media from folders you allow,

• showing status media inside the App,

• saving selected media to your device,

• sharing selected media when you choose to use Android’s share options.

3. Information collected automatically

The App uses Firebase services provided by Google to help us understand app usage and improve stability.

Firebase Analytics may collect information such as:

• app interactions,

• app sessions and basic usage events,

• device or app identifiers,

• approximate location derived from IP address,

• device and app information.

Firebase Crashlytics may collect information such as:

• crash logs,

• diagnostics,

• app version,

• device model,

• operating system version,

• technical information related to crashes and app stability.

This information helps us understand how the App is used, find bugs, diagnose crashes, and improve performance.

4. Feedback information

If you choose to use the Send Feedback feature, the App may send feedback information to our Firebase Firestore project.

This may include:

• your feedback message,

• app version,

• package name,

• device model,

• Android SDK version,

• an installation identifier,

• the time the feedback was submitted.

Sending feedback is optional. Please do not include sensitive personal information in your feedback message.

5. How we use information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

• to provide and improve app functionality,

• to understand app usage through analytics,

• to diagnose and fix bugs and crashes,

• to respond to or review user feedback,

• to improve app performance and reliability.

We do not use this information for personalized advertising.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with data brokers, advertisers, or unrelated third parties.

We use Firebase services provided by Google as our service provider for analytics, crash reporting, and feedback storage. Firebase may process data on our behalf to provide these services.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the App, or others.

7. Ads and purchases

Status Saver currently contains no ads and no in-app purchases.

If ads or purchases are added in the future, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety section will be updated accordingly.

8. Data storage and retention

Status media is processed locally on your device and is not uploaded by the App.

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics data may be retained according to Firebase and Google Analytics retention settings. Feedback submitted through the App may be stored in our Firebase project so we can review it and improve the App.

You may request deletion of feedback or applicable data by contacting us using the email address below. Some diagnostic or analytics data may already be anonymized, aggregated, automatically deleted, or retained for legitimate reasons such as security, debugging, or legal compliance.

9. Permissions

Depending on your Android version and your actions, the App may request permissions such as storage/media access and internet/network state access.

Permissions are used only for relevant app features and can be managed in Android Settings.

10. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by the App. Data sent to Firebase services is encrypted in transit using secure connections.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. Your choices

You can:

• deny or revoke app permissions in Android Settings,

• choose not to send feedback,

• uninstall the App to stop further app access from your device,

• contact us to request deletion of applicable feedback or data.

12. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
