Hello Team 62! Welcome to 6th Grade at AMJH!

First and foremost, I hope everyone is staying safe and staying home. We must take care of each other so we can take care of the rest of the community. This pandemic has really taken us out of our normal routine. It's a new normal we are all dealing with, but I know that if we follow the CDC guidelines, we will make it through and get back to our lives.

We miss our students, co-workers and our classrooms. We may not be in a classroom right now, but we can and will start with your education. It's different, yes, but we are here for you, students and parents/guardians. We may be starting at home, but we will do our best to provide the best instruction for the students. We've been hard at work over the summer to get the curriculum ready, the lessons and activities.

Students should be getting a Chromebook from the school if you said your child needed one in the survey. If you do not have internet at home, that issue is being worked on as well so that every student has access if you cannot afford it. Spectrum has specials for this as well. Please check with them for any deals, even if you already pay for it. Discounts are always great! If you didn't ask for a Chromebook, please call our office and ask to be put on a waitlist. Parents, please understand, we don't want you to home-school. We are here to provide the lessons and activities. You have enough on your plate with everything going on. The biggest help we can receive is for you to make sure your kids are logging in and doing their work. Work with the schedule that is being provided and help your kids stay on task. Kids may say and act like they don't like structure and rules, but we all do. We work better with it, us as adults too. You can check the Parent Portal to check on their grades. You can see their Google classrooms of all their teachers to see the assignments being sent to them. You can also email us individually if you have questions or need some guidance on what we are doing. We appreciate all the help and support you can give us. Hopefully, if we all follow the guidelines in our cities, we can get back to some kind of normalcy and back in school as safe as possible for everyone. More than ever, we need to help and support each other, after all, we are a second family... for students and us as well.

Stay strong and patient. Your teachers are learning alongside each one of you. This is new to us as well. There's always something new to learn everyday.

Your AMJH TEAM 62 Teachers: Ms. V. Rivera-Science, Ms. B. Garcia- Reading, Ms. M. Saenz-Reading, Ms. R. Rodriguez-Math, Mrs. J. Ibarra-Math and Mr. Matamoros- History.

I will post directions below on how to install and log in from a mobile device. Please keep trying if you are having issues or ask someone else at home for help. I will be as detailed as possible. It is very important to log in to get your assignments and grades.

We care about you and your education. We truly do. Let's get this done! :)
