Principal Investigator
I started my research journey at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB), Kolkata, for a doctoral degree and at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, for postdoctoral research. In our lab, we are studying the mechanism of contact mediated bacteria-bacterial interaction and host-pathogen interaction.

Rishav Barman
Integrated Ph.D. (2021 - present)
I graduated from Presidency University, Kolkata in 2019 with a degree in Life Sciences. I embarked on an exhilarating journey at the Indian Institute of Science. My fascination with bacterial nanotubes ignited in 2021, driving my Integrated PhD research forward. Delving into these molecular nanomachines has been nothing short of captivating.

I graduated from RKMVC, Kolkata, in 2019 and pursued my MSc in Biotechnology at Jawaharlal Nehru University. August 2021 marked the beginning of my PhD journey as a student at the Molecular Biophysics Unit, IISc.

My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Calcutta University, where I developed a profound fascination with the microbial world. This passion deepened as I pursued a Master’s degree at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. Building on this foundation, I joined the Indian Institute of Science in 2024 to advance my research in the field.

Divyashree A R

My interest in biological sciences was sparked during my school days. I graduated with a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) degree in Biotechnology from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, in 2023 and pursued Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in Biotechnology from the same institute and graduated in 2025. In August 2025, I began my PhD journey at Molecular Biophysics Unit, IISc Bengaluru to follow my learning passion.
