Jacob Stroet is one of the board members of Wij Amsterdam we interviewed during our fieldwork. He takes up the function of secretary and treasurer. He has lived in the city centre his entire life and says that he has seen the city change extensively. He is particularly bothered by the way tourism has had its part in these changes. He does not hate tourism, but he hates the nuisance caused by the tourists in Amsterdam. That is why he is looking for a way to tackle this nuisance and improve liveability again.
