AUTHENTIC MALAY CUISINE
SBEA 2148 | < YEAR 2 DESIGN 3 >
Malacca once strong with a Malay identity, but over time, it has gradually faded. The architecture in the site area reflects colonial influences, including Dutch, British, and Southern Chinese styles. To revive the Malay identity, inspiration is drawn from Rumah Melayu Melaka, symbolizing Malay heritage.
The primary design goal is to revive the fading Malay identity within the site area, appreciating Malay heritage and fostering a meaningful connection through the chosen concept, "Renjana Warisan." This concept serves as a poetic expression, embodying profound love for heritage, capturing the project's objective to evoke cultural nostalgia and appreciation for the enduring legacy of Malay identity.
The aim is to establish a deep connection with the rich heritage and creating a lasting impact to the new generation.
