Gazelle IV Solar Car

Gazelle IV Solar Car

The University of Tehran Solar Car Team was formed in November 2004. It all started with an idea! Design and built a solar car and take part in a challenge! Eight brilliant students from the School of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Tehran formed a team under the supervision of Prof. K. Abrinia and built the first solar car ever in Iran and the Middle East

Dihedral Synchro-helix actuation doors

The hinge mechanism of the car door is designed similar to the mechanism found in Koenigsegg cars, which generally includes a "four-bar" mechanism and two "bevel gears" that are responsible for converting the rotation from a vertical plane to a side plate. This mechanism is all Made of aluminum (due to weight loss) except the gears which are steel.

dashboard and console

The design of the dashboard is done in SolidWorks software considering the driver ergonomics. It is made of carbon fiber material for weight loss.
