AMINA HAROON

Greetings !

I am Amina Haroon. I completed my Ph.D. in 2025 from the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi), where I worked under the supervision of Dr. Sneh Saurabh. I have a strong academic foundation and a deep passion for research. I enjoy solving complex, real-world problems by applying theoretical knowledge to develop practical solutions. This passion is at the core of my doctoral work, titled “Investigating Probabilistic Computing: Devices, Circuits, and Systems”.

My work focuses on an “Atoms to Systems” approach—connecting breakthroughs in fundamental physics to hardware implementations. I specialize in designing energy-efficient hardware for probabilistic computing, harnessing inherent device stochasticity to solve optimization and sampling problems that are considered intractable for deterministic systems. This requires co-designing devices, circuits, and systems to navigate the trade-offs essential for scaling to complex problems.

Outside of academia, I actively engage in a variety of extracurricular activities that have strengthened my leadership, teamwork, and communication skills—qualities that I carry into my research and professional life. I also find inspiration and balance through the support of my husband, whose encouragement continues to shape my journey.
