Profile

Amin Adelzadeh is a researcher and educator specializing in digital timber construction, with a focus on circular timber systems, resource-driven predictive design, and adaptive fabrication for timber assemblies. He is currently a doctoral fellow at CITA – Centre for Information Technology and Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark, within the EIC Pathfinder research project.

Throughout his career, Amin has held research and teaching positions at several international institutions, including CITA, Augsburg Technical University of Applied Sciences, Chalmers University of Technology, Bremen University of Applied Sciences, TU Kaiserslautern, and Politecnico di Milano. His teaching includes design studios, seminars, and technical workshops focused on low-cost, material-efficient, and rapidly assembled and disassembled modular timber systems. He has contributed to academic workshops and educational programs at major international conferences, including ACADIA 2025, SIGraDi 2024 in Spain, eCAADe 2024 in Cyprus, SIGraDi 2023 in Uruguay, CAADRIA 2023 in India, DigitalFUTURES 2023 in China, and ACADIA 2022 in Pennsylvania, USA.

His research has been published and presented at numerous international conferences and events, including IASS/APCS, Rob|Arch, Design Modeling Symposium, ACADIA, CAADRIA, eCAADe, DigitalFUTURES, the International Mass Timber Conference in the USA, LIGNA 2023, and BAU 2023 in Germany. His work has also been featured in architectural and construction media, including Holz-Zentralblatt, one of Germany’s leading specialist magazines for the timber industry. In addition, Amin has delivered presentations and lectures at distinguished institutions, including the Department of Design Tech at Cornell AAP and Politecnico di Milano.

Amin is a member of the scientific paper review committees for DigitalFUTURES CDRF, the International Journal of Architectural Computing (IJAC), CAADRIA, SIGraDi, and eCAADe. He has also curated lecture series and moderated discussions with internationally recognized professors, experts, and researchers from institutions including TU Delft, ETH Zurich, CITA, ICD at the University of Stuttgart, Columbia GSAPP, Harvard GSD, Rhode Island School of Design, The Cooper Union, Ohio State University, Washington State University, and others.

He holds a Master of Science in Architecture from Politecnico di Milano and has received several merit-based scholarships.
